i used this bed everyday for 2 years. it was the most comfortable thing i have ever slept on. a small pinprick of a hole formed in the top and i patched it with duct tape. well over time that hole got bigger and bigger and tape was no longer a quick fix. when i finally had to get rid of it i couldn't wait to another to ship to store so i bought a Coleman.. it lasted 3 weeks =/ .... but this Simmons is a dream to sleep on, and yes occasionally i had to add air. not very often though. and as i said i slept on it with me and my daughter for 2 years and it held up great.

Super comfortable, easy to inflate/deflate, great as an extra bed for guests. Queen size is slightly smaller than expected, but still gets the job done. I would suggest laying blankets or a quilt on top of mattress before sheets if you tend to get cold.

I bought this bed when my parents visited last year. At first, they couldn't even guess that it was not a 'real' bed! Although I bought the Queen size, its slightly smaller than a normal queen but that fit perfectly in the limited space I had. The good thing is - once inflated, its so light you can move it around (with your feet!) to creat space in the direction you want. The downside is it's not the best option for two people especially if one moves a lot and the other is sensitive to movement. Unfortunately I found this out only from my parents as it seemed fine when I tested it myself. So after a while, when their excitement wore out, I had to make different arrangements :( That's also why I gave it one less star for meeting expectations. But since my parents left, I'm using it as my main bed (4 months). And I have no complaints this time. This is mainly because I can sleep towards the center where the bed is more firm and not go to the sides where it gives away (this is another reason that makes it non-ideal for two). I topped it with some snug throws and sheets and it treats my sensitive back well. I also like the fact that although its an airbed, it inflates so high that you don't feel like you are sleeping at floor level. The bed retains air for a good length of time and I only fill it once every 2-3 months. It remains to be seen how much longer it will last though. Overall, great buy for a single person on a limited budget. Once done using, can be neatly packed away. With suitable bedding, can be made to look like real :-)

    • Battery operated pump fills it in under 3 minutes. Manual aux pump makes it very firm and tops it off.

    • It is an electric pump that plugs into a regular US electric outlet. I have both the twin and queen size mattresses and they take roughly 2-3 minutes to fill.

    • Yes. I have a house full of people due to the economy, and have been sleeping on it every night for the past 7 weeks and will probaly have to keep it for some time. I only add air if I need to. I keep it inflated all the time.

    • the air can remain as long as the bed is set up but this bed is warrantied for occasional use. Also you will need to add a little air a few times a week to keep it full as air pressure will diminish over time.

    • Like most people here, I have to shoot some more air into it maybe every 4-5 days, but I prefer mine somewhat firm. You only have to run the pump some 5 seconds or so each time. Not sure if it's stretching out or losing some air, but it gradually gets softer over a week's time. For me it's not that big a deal to give it a short blast of air as needed.

    • Although not intended for daily use, I use mine every day. I've only added a little air in over a month!

    • I think so. We used this bed for 2 months while our son waited for his furniture to be relocated to him. He would have to add air occasionally but not daily. He weighs 300lbs plus and it worked for him just fine! Adding air on this bed is easy . I would recommend that you try it.

    • We have used it for a couple weeks now on and off. We put air in it one time (after initial fill) to just add a little, but the directions do say that it is normal to have to add a little air after it is filled the first time. We have filled it and kept it filled now for a couple weeks like I said and it has done a very good job of keeping it's air. However, it comes with it's own pump and is very easy to hook it up and add a little if need to. I can't say yet if it will b able to hold the air for 2 or 3 months strait without having to put any air in at all. I would have to say it may be possible, but I wouldn't want to be very far from an outlet for it my need a little air fill within that time frame. In my opinion, I think any air bed would.

    • Eric, It all depends on how soft or firm you like your bed. I add about 3 seconds of air every other week which is not really a lot. I don't have mine filled as far as it will go because it would be too firm then. Just find whats comfortable for you and top off when needed. "D"

    • NO! Beautyrest AirBed with Pump lasts 3 days and then you have to refill. GET A "MAINSTAY AIRBED with PUMP" It last me and my spouse 5-6 months and had to refill once after 3 months. It remained strong and comfortable for TWO PEOPLE for 5 months. Dont get the BeautyRest, people. RESOURCE: 10 months of not owning a real bed, and had to use air mattress....I have experience with these mattresses now. LOL

    • Tested for 4 days so far. 2-3 months, I doubt anything less than a car tire can hold air that long.
