Rated 5 out of 5 by Great rods I bought this rod and I'm very happy with its performance and durability. I fish PCBeach,fl pier at pier park on a weekly basis. Catching Spanish mackerel up to 6lbs, blue fish, red fish , and pompano. It holds up under tough conditions. A Mitchell advocet2 with 10lb test. Performs well on this rod. Long casting ability. Able to reel fish straight up from water 30'. You can't go wrong with this rod for price. 04/14/2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by 7' Medium action 2pcs spinning rod Bought the rod yesterday, great deal under $16. I love the fast tip action, great feel of the line. Pulled in a nice 2lbs largemouth and had a great battle with about a 4lbs pickerel, biggest of my life, until he cut right through my line ( no leader). Great rod, would definitely recommend it for the weekend warrior or even avid fisherman. Rod feels just as good if not better than my lightning rod that snapped on me during a back cast. 05/05/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Do not buy!!! I purchased this rod based on its price, and the shakespear name, and paired it with a mitchell advocate. After the purchase, and arrival to my home, I went to get the rod out of my vehical, and it was broke in two parts, I returned it, and exchanged it for a new one the same day thinking it may have been cracked prior to the purchase. I took it to the river about a week later to try it out, the first, and only cast was smooth, but upon reeling it in, It snagged a rock, and with very little strain on the rod, it broke in three places, I went to Walmart, grabbed one off the rack, put slight pressure on it, and guess what, it broke in half, thats three different rods, these rods are junk, dont waist your money. 05/03/2012
