We purchased this rod for a camping trip for my 5 year old daughter. Cute,easy to use,she caught three fish with it,and it seems pretty durable,no problems with cheap plastic parts breaking like others said. GREAT deal!

wonderfull kids pole

Love this product! Purchased for my 4 year old daughter and she loves it. Took her fishing the other day for the first time. She had a good time using her fishing rod. She caught 8 small fish with it. I would have to say, not to bad to be her first time fishing. She loves it and she is ready to go back. Would highly recommend this for a child.

Bought this for my 4 year old niece. It cast good and seems to be a good quality. It had a little trouble reeling in the Large Mouth Bass that she caught but did just fine on the crappie she caught around the dock before we left.

Pretty Good

i got this for my daughter when she was 5 years old, and we used it to pond fish, and she actually has caught alot of little fish with it..she is 6 years old, and still uses it to fish, but its wearing down a bit. its so easy to use with the push button, but don't catch anything big, because its not very strong and reeling in, but its for kids anyway. she loves it.

The reel was broken before we ever got to use this rod.  I have not been able to return it but it will go back to the store.  Very poor quality.  Very disappointed.

Broken out of the box

I bought this instead of the bigger Shakespeare combo because my little girl wanted the purple color. I bought my son the bigger Shakespeare combo.
Its hard to believe the quality difference between the two piece Shakespeare kits (Spiderman) and this one. The reel action is stiff and clunky, making it hard for my 3 year old girl to reel in. The line tangles constantly and I have had to take the reel apart to pull out the tangled line. Some of this may be my little girl's fault since she hasn't figured out how to cast with it yet, but its also tangled on me when I was practising with her.
Spend a few bucks more and get the bigger Shakespeare kit, its far superior.

Not that great

Line broke on first use and was reeled all the way in. Cover is not removeable, the presence of a screw leads you to believe it is, but the screw turns but does not unscrew. After messing with this for quite awhile went online to discover that the pole is apparently designed that way. Throw ten bucks in the trash and save yourself the frustration.
