This Shakespeare Disney Princess All-In-One Casting Rod and Reel Kit is a good way to introduce kids to angling. Along with a 2'6" all-in-one Shakespeare Rod and Reel, this Disney Princess kit comes with a tackle box to hold all fishing gear when transporting or not in use. A practice casting plug is included with the fishing rod and reel.

Yes, it is teeny-tiny and not really a 'tackle box'. You can see it in the picture of the fishing rod - it's in the center, blue in color and oval shaped. You do not carry it by a handle, it straps onto a belt. I do not recommend it.

The tackle box is a very small oval shaped clip on. It's about 3"X4". As someone else described it, it looks more like a little makeup box but she can clip it on her belt.

I bought this for my niece's 4th birthday. She loves it. There is a plastic fish on the endinette of the line. Every time she reeled in her cast, she said she was catching a fish.

Disney Princess Fishing Pole

Got the rod for our 3 year old granddaughter. She of course loves pink and princesses so this just suited her perfectly. What was amusing is that she caught more fish with this little rod than her brother who is 11 caught with his rod.

Great Rod For The Starting Fishergirl

Our granddaughter hasn't received it yet but it is pretty, well packaged and I'm sure she will enjoy it when her father takes her fishing with him. The only disappointment is that the package deal offered by Walmart which shows the princess rod and a matching folding chair is not available. You can only get the "Cars" chair. They should stop offering that combo.

We got this so grandma could teach my daughter how to fish. Just taking it out of the wrapping the string broke and we can't figure out how to get it back.  Real good job providing instructions to provide the inevitable breakage from being fixed. Now I have to drive two hours to get a real fishing rod to teach her on. Thanks, Shakespeare...

I bought a rods and reels for my grandchildren, ages 4-7, and they were too big for them. . My grandsons had the the spiderman and cars rods, already. I bought my granddaughter this one. We opened the package and the reel was all tangled inside. I was so disappointed because we were already at the coast, on the pier. She was devastated. The boys had their rods and reels, and she didn't. Don't understand how the boy's versions were perfect, and this character version was awful.

Save your money and buy the fishing pole and the tackle box seperate because the 'tackle box' that comes with this is SO small #maybe 2 inches by 3 inches#. It does not have a handle, only a clip, you clip onto your belt. I thought I was buying two seperate items but they come packaged together. Very disappointed!

My husband is a fisherman and could not get the reel to work properly. He could not adjust the drag on the reel. So if a child caught a fish they would just wind and wind and never be able to wind it in. I took it back and checked several other Shakespeare children's poles that did the same thing. Went with a Zebco child's pole that works perfectly.

Child's Shakespeare pole won't reel in.
