After much research I chose the Sealy-Baby Snugfit Crib Mattress Pad through Walmart.com and am very pleased with it.

I purchased one from babies r us (their own brand) ...fitted waterproof crib mattress cover. Fits the sealy perfectly, very snug fit. Just make sure to wash it first has a chemical, plastic smell. I use tide free detergent and it took the smell out, so any detergent will do.

I have the Sealy waterproof mattress pad cover with this mattress. It's really nice.

we love this mattress. all we use is a mattress pad on it rather than a cover since the vinyl or whatever it is, seems like it would be extremely simple to clean if need be. the mattress pads i use are babies r us brand. they are felt w a water proof layer in between. and they are fitted perfectly to the mattress.

What would a good recommendation be for a mattress cover for this particular mattress?

Does this mattress fit properly in the Graco Lauren baby crib?

Yes it will fit.. got the same size mattress and a toddler bed that was the same size as stated above.. After assemble it fits perfectly nice ,snug and safe.
