    • A. These bikes are sold by tire size and the frame is standard...they are all the same. If this bike is uncomfortable, perhaps try another bike style or look at an actual bike shop (not department store) where bikes are sold by frame size rather than tire size.

    • A. I just purchased the bike today 4-18-12. I am 5'4" and big framed. The bike was too short for me, meaning my feet hit the tires when I peddled. I don't know how to measure the size of this bike. It does have 26" tires. It appears to be a nice bike but I have to return it for a longer frame, if said correctly. With the seat in the lowest position I'm standing on my tippy toes, about to fall over. The way the frame is modeled there is not much space between the top bar of the frame and the front seat edge. I am thinking this is a SMALL frame bike vs. one that is a medium frame size. I'm sorry to see it have to go back to Syracuse, UT Wal Mart! I don't know if this is the only size the bike comes in. Ride it in the store to see if your feet hit the front tires when peddling otherwise you may buy this bike too small in size.

I didn't have the opportunity to learn to ride a bike as a kid, but suddenly, at age 38, I decided to give it a try. I chose the Link because it's super-adjustable, has a more natural, upright riding position, and is a lot of bike for under $200. It shares a lot of features with the more expensive commuter style bikes. The bike is so easy to handle that after an hour of using the "pedal free" learning method, I was able to bike home (I couldn't even cruise on a bike before I bought this one!). And now the things that may give you pause for thought. I don't bike great distances, but I am on and off the bike all day between local errands, my college's campus, and the local park. I can't find many accessories that fit, and this includes Schwinn-branded accessories. Basically, the only things I was able to add were a handlebar bag, seat post bag (after switching the comfort seat out for a standard seat) and a water bottle holder (after drilling my own braze-ons). I WANTED a rear rack and some fenders. It seems that every component of this bike is non-standard. Even the "universal" frame mount for my bike lock cable wouldn't fit securely on any part of the frame. The seat was way too wide (I basically had to put all of my weight on the horn of the saddle- OUCH!!), the handle bar grips are slippery, and once I tried to use the front derailleur it didn't function properly, even after having it adjusted and serviced at a local bike shop. It was too late to return the bike, even though the bike shop worker suspected an individual manufacturing defect instead of this being an issue with design or general quality. Fortunately, I rarely need to shift the front derailleur, so I simply disconnected it and I move the chain manually when I need a different gear range. The rear derailleur is a bit rough on transition, and the grip-style shifters on the handlebar are smooth plastic- I wrapped them in non-slip handlebar tape for safety. I added a standard saddle, non-slip handlebar grips (Schwinn, but they had to be cut down to fit), and used sand paper to rough up the very slippery pedals that are also made of very smooth plastic. All in all, this bike was still a good purchase, especially considering I didn't know how, or even IF I would be using it. It's a comfy, stable bike and should be a great value for most uses. I've been able to get about 17mph out of this one (and I am NOT in shape!) in the upper gear range, so it's fine for street use. I don't see any need to replace the bike anytime soon and I only dropped a star because it's been so annoying to outfit it with accessories, and the defective front derailleur.

I was looking for an inexpensive bike to ride around our neighborhood & to also pull a bike trailer for my kids. Thinking I needed a mountain bike, I bought the Ladies Next Power Climber.. Big Mistake! The seat was uncomfortable & it puts your back in a hunched over position. It was totally uncomfortable all the way around & you had to work hard to get it going at a decent speed not to mention pulling the bike trailer felt like pulling dead weight. So, I took it back the next day & tried out every ladies bike in the $100 range & wound up with this Schwinn Link. I didn't realize how bad the Next bike was until I rode this Schwinn. It's the best combination of a cruiser bike (comfortable seat, smooth ride, & great handlebar position) & mtn bike (multiple speeds, brakes on the handlebars, & built for any surface). It also pulled the bike trailer with great ease & little effort. THIS BIKE IS AWESOME!!!. Best of all, it rang up for $149 so I got a little bit of a deal on it too. WOOHOOO!

We first bought a Men's Link just under 2 years ago and converted it to a peddle-assist with an e-bike kit. It was SO comfortable to ride that we bought a Women's Link for my wife and also converted it to an e-bike. WE LOVED THEM (raise/tilt the bars, ride upright, "sitting in the bike") even before making easy user upgrades: added metal peddles, replaced the rear gear cluster for higher speed peddling, added a Walmart rear carrier rack, Walmart front basket, fenders and a cloud 9 large-soft seat, a total of $127. We now ride in comfort for a few hours without wanting a break. We use them for short-trip shopping and bike trail recreation (pack a meal, scenery, nature, renewed). The e-bike conversion allows 65>80 miles with battery (9 cent/charge) assisted peddling, generally cruise between 10>15 mph, we stay under 20 mph for safety. This bike gets 30>50 miles a week use with monthly checks of loose components, spokes, adjust brake pads, tire air. The peddle-assist makes most hills flat for us senior bicyclists. There is over 1000 miles on the 1st Link and about 700 miles on this Link bike without any breakdowns, just light maintenance. A bike like this Link, before upgrades, would likely carry a $500+ price from a bike shop. Last and very important, the Walmart bike department has always been available for assembly and adjustment problems, friendly help, at no added costs!

I bought this bike for my girlfriend to replace a much nicer mens mountain bike (Jamis Dakota) of mine she had been riding. She absolutely loves it. She says" It is much more comfortable than the Dakota". The gears shift fairly smoothly for an inexpensive bike, it was an eay assembly and so far it seems to be a pretty nice bike. thanks Wal-Mart!

I have been watching for this bike at my local Walmart and it never seemed to come in. With some hesitation, not really into ordering online without seeing what I am actually getting, but I went ahead and ordered. I am so glad that I did, this bike is really nice, it is a dark blue finish with a tonal floral pattern. It is a comfortable ride for this lady who hasn't riden a bike in far to long. The Schwinn name was a factor in my purchase as well, the company has been around for what seems like forever. I had a question about my purchase and contacted Schwinn and they replied in a timely manner. So all around I feel I made a good purchase, only had my new bike out a couple times but I am already looking forward to many more trips.
