Sceptre 23" Class LED 1080p 60Hz HDTV, E243BV-FHD, (1.7" ultra-slim)Black 4 5 50 60
Best LED out there for the price point I got this TV to put in my garage and it meets / exceeds my expectations. While at this point I only have it hooked up to a digital converter as opposed to HDTV box I did hook it up to my HD box to see how the picture looked which was excellent. I wanted a TV with a low profile that was wall mountable and found the nest of both worlds with this one. Sound is not the greatest but more than adequate for now considering where I am using it... I would recommend to anyone looking for a smaller LED/LCD to fit this type of need!! 01/17/2012
Great TV for the price I Built custom book shelves in my bedroom from floor to ceiling and each section of shelves are 23 inches wide. In one section I installed an outlet and cable connection in the wall. all I needed was a tv to fit in the space I had built. I looked at all the online sites for a 24 inch, I wanted the biggest size I could fit in the space. Came accross this Sceptre 23 inch which on the box says 24 inch. It was the best price I could find for that size. I was questioning the off brand and keep looking on line comparing prices and keep coming back to this one. It is for a bedroom and We maybe watch it for a hour at the most every other night. Well I Ordered it and hooked it up and mounted it on the wall in the book shelf and it looked great. I than turned it on and after playing with the picture for awhile it really was better than I thought it would be. The sound was the only thing that was not very good. I went out and bought a $25.00 Computer speaker system with a sub-woofer and hooked it up to the headphone jack and great sound came out. the tv has an equalizer so I could fine tune the sound to my taste. To sum it up this tv is the best I found for the price. It can be used as a computer monitor as well, just a very nice tv for the price. I am really impressed and injoying this tv. I hooked up a DVD player to it, it has RCA jacks as well as 3 HDMI imputs. I would tell anyone looking for this size tv go with the Sceptre. And one more thing I got the black but it comes in other colors as well. 02/09/2012
Clean Sharp Picture though Sound a con I’m mostly using this as a computer monitor to replace a 19 inch Hanns-G and the 1920x1080P resolution is so useful. I have tested the picture quality by downloading a 1080P version of big buck bunny and the picture was crystal clear. The VGA connection works automatically and I suggest you go into the menu and change to DOT BY DOT. DOT BY DOT simply means that with 1080p displays, every pixel of 1080i and 1080p sources is shown on the screen with no overscan and all of the detail promised by the source. The off the air programming which is mostly 1080i or 720p gives a crystal clear picture. One issue so far is HDMI from my video card to the Sceptre HDMI port displayed a washout fuzzy text and picture compared to VGA. Trying to troubleshoot to see if it’s on my end or perhaps waiting to see if other users have any issues with HDMI connection from a video card hdmi port.I have connected my 2.1 computer speakers 20 watts per speaker and a subwoofer. To connect your computer speakers just plug into the headphone jack. The Speakers are the major con of this TV, but this applies to many slim profile TV’s of this price. Back when we bought big tubes the default sound speakers sounded adequate.-The TV button on the remote acts as a jump loop to your other source. For example, you can go to “PC” to “TV” with one click of a button. Or if you have a Nintendo Wii on HDMI 1 and you’re using the PC one click will switch between the two. It might forget the loop if you restart the TV so just a warning.-The code that works for DIRECTV remote is “10000”. If that does not work then use other Sony codes. The only thing left is how reliable and durable this tv will last. 02/10/2012
Good Deal but Sound Stinks! Bought this for our kid's play room (to use with a Wii). The price was right, however, you do get what you pay for. The picture is fine, but the sound is awful! I've tried all sorts of adjustments and it just "is what it is." Kind of "muffled" and "raspy" if you turn it up too high. I think part of the problem is that the speakers seem to be in the back of the unit - so the sound doesn't get projected anywhere. I was going to try and add a couple external speakers to the TV, to try and improve the quality - don't even know if that's possible. If you're looking at this for a spare room, etc., then I'd recommend it. It is a good deal for that sort of use. However, if you want to use this as your main TV?? I'd spend a little more and find something better as you will be disappointed. 02/03/2012
