Rated 4 out of 5 by JJJJA Nobody Believes We Assembled It Ourselves This bookcase was a very good deal for us. We ended up purchasing 4 to line up together across one wall of our sitting room. Once we had them all assembled, all the people who have seen them can hardly believe that we assembled them ourselves. They look like very nice, quality furniture pieces.Our only complaints, which are quite minor, are:1) The finish is a little bit creamier (darker) than we expected.2) One piece in each bookcase that was shown as pre-drilled in the instructions was actually not pre-drilled, which made the assembly a little more difficult since it required a drill.3) The backing is very thin (basically thick cardboard), which you could easily break while trying to move this piece.The assembly took a fairly significant amount of time (about 3 hours), but the instructions were easy-to-follow, and everything came together well. This was not the sturdiest "build-it-yourself" piece of furniture we've ever bought, but it was very close to the top of the list.All in all, we are very pleased with these bookcases, and we would definitely recommend them. 07/31/2007
