I received this sewing cabinet as a birthday gift. We live in an apartment so space is at a premium but I still wanted to be able to sew. This fits the bill nicely. It is well made and sturdy. I love the electrical plug and all of the shelves to organize all of my sewing notions. It all folds up like an origami sewing center. It is brilliantly designed, kudos to the engineer who figured this out. The only thing that is different from the picture is that this piece is light beige and NOT white. It is about one shade lighter than our Scandinavian bedroom furniture in maple! So this was actually a nice surprise but if you think it is going to be white it isn't. I love it and highly recommend it especially if you are limited in floor space. Remember, in small spaces you need to go up, not out!

Pros: I love this armoire. It hides the mess very well. I have a huge machine and it just fits on the upper shelf. The two bottom shelves are large enough to store more machines or supplies. So much fits in this unit. Close the door and the mess is hidden. Cons: The back piece for the unit was not sent. I called Sauder customer service and it took 4 business days and a weekend for it to arrive. I had left over white paneling on hand so I cut it down to fit the back. Very frustrating. But probably stronger than the piece provided. It took me about 10 hours to assemble (including panel cutting). Even with the missing piece I love this and wish I had got it sooner.

I agree with all the other sewers about how well this item performs for both sewing and storage of machines. I have a Husqvarna/Viking DIAMOND, which is a VERY large sewing/embroidery machine, and a 5 thread serger. They fit easily on opposite sides of the table with room for my lamp/magnifying light stand and the project I'm working on. I like having my pins and scissors beside me, and even with this big machine and the embroidery unit attached, I have room for these beside the machine. I placed a cheap plastic tool drawer set on the shelf just above the machine with all of my presser feet, extra bobbins, needles, etc. where I can reach them without getting up. There is plenty of room for my executive-size office chair in front of the machines. I've had this unit for about 8 months now, and find it to be quite sturdy. I wish the lower shelves were just a bit more accessible, but that's because I have a hard time bending over these days. I would definitely buy this again. Note: I am not a Wal*Mart fan. But this has worked out very well and the price was right for me.

I love this armoire. I am able to store my Viking embroidery machine, serger, and my Brothers sewing machine in this unit with lots of room to spare. I like that it has an electrical outlet attatched to the back of the table which is very easy to get to. I too had trouble with the shelves being a tad to big and I will have to have them sized down a little to fit correctly. I will be sewing alot more then I used to because now I do not have to set up a table to sew on, take my machines out of their totes to set them up and then when I am finished put everything back. I just open the doors, pull the table out, plug the machine in, and I am off and sewing. I have cats so I have to make sure that everything is put away because cats love to eat thread and that can turn into an expensive vet bill. This unit closes up and keeps them out of trouble.

I've had this armoire for about two weeks and I am very pleased with it. It doesn't feel like cheap furniture - it's built of what seems like sturdy wood product. There seems to be enough space for all my crafts and the table is great for working on. I love the way the table folds into the unit and you can hide it behind closed doors. The color is one of my only complaints: I wished it came in more than just white. However the white is not that cheap particle white lacquer look like some of the Walmart furniture; it actually looks like white painted on real wood. Definitely would recommend this as an alternative to people who do not have access to an entire room for their crafting paraphernalia. My main complaint to Walmart is that I wished I could have had this shipped to the store for me to pick up to save the $50 shipping cost. That combined with the tax added almost another $100 to the unit.

The sewing armoir was perfect to store and use all three of my sewing machines. The pull out table is strong and sturdy enough for my embroidery machine and offers enough room to quilt. It was better than I expected it to be!

I needed a way to store my scrapbooking and cardmaking stuff as the desk I was using was accumulating too much stuff in the corner of my livingroom, it was becoming unsightly. My husband bought this for me as a surprise and i love it! I could store all of my paper in the adjustable shelves and all of my cricut equipment on the lower shelves. With this armoire, I am able to put more time in being creative and not have to take too much time with setting up and clearing up. It took some time to assemble the unit but it is really sturdy and not to mention, nice to look at. All the scrapbooking clutter is now gone! I would definitely recommend this.

My husband bought this for my birthday - what a gift. I have been wanting this for a long time. The cabinet looks great in our sunroom and the best part is it opens up to a full work station. Lots of room for storage with a large surface for sewing and crafts. Love the fact that I can put everything away at night so that my curious kitties do not get into everything. My husband is happy because all my craft and sewing items are not all over the room. Lots of compliments. Easy to put together. One thing that is difficult is that the two boxes that it is shipped in are extremely heavy - need help to move. We took the boxes apart outside and then brought in the pieces. Delievery was fast too.

The shipping for this armoire was great. It was packaged securely and I received a call from Wal Mart to schedule a delivery day and time AND it was actually delivered within the scheduled time frame. Worth the cost of shipping. It took myself and a friend 3 hours and 35 minutes to put together and I found the parts to be well marked and nothing was missing. I would suggest sorting the hardware before you begin... there's a lot of hardware! The only CON? There is no way this piece is antique white as stated in the description. It's basically tan with some streaks of white in it. Having said that, it IS a nice addition to my craft room, but by no means holds all of my scrapbook supplies. I've been scrapbooking for 10 years, however, so if you know anything about that craft you will understand why I say it doesn't hold everything I own. What does make it amazing is it provides a work space for me without having to keep a table out all the time. It's a tiny bit overpriced, but still the best thing I could find that didn't cost a fortune after looking online for quite a long time.

Ordered this unit for my wife who has decided to take up quilting. With the help of my son-in-law who has experience assembling similar "kit" items, we had it together in about 90 minutes. (Would have taken me half a day by myself) Everything went together nicely. The fold-down, rolling shelf seems quite stable and stores very compactly. There's a lot of working and storage space. The finish is an "antique" or "distressed" off-white. Has 4 leveling feet to stabilize the entire unit. Overall, very pleased with this purchase. The wife loves it so far...

    • A. Yes, but it will depend on how level your floor is, too. I had to use my embroidery unit leveling feet because my hard-wood floors are not perfectly level. But the pull-out table section is on drawer-slides, so it is level with itself.

    • A. You know, it did slant slightly, so I strategically positioned a couple of those little 1-1/2" round felt furniture protector pads under the table where it hits the pullout leg and that solved the problem. If you decide to do the same, make sure to position them on the underside of the drop table, not on the leg because the leg will not fit into the slide when closed if you do. Hope this is helpful. :)
