Sauder Storage Cabinet I bought this cabinet for my hubby to store his many many t-shirts in. I wasn't sure what kind of quality this would be but it was GREAT! It's heavy and extremely durable. I am thinking about buying another for my kids' room. It's truly a quality product for a cheap price! 03/18/2011
Inexpensive, no frills storage. You get what you pay for in this case. Mine is great and is functioning as intended. However, it is press board, and IF you overtighten screws, they will strip. If you put too much weight on the shelves, they will not hold. If you slam the doors or hang weight on them, the hinges will loosen in time. I use mine for extra kitchen storage for large items that just don't store well in my limited space, like my crock pot. I don't have it full of heavy items and it won't be used every 30 minutes, so I expect it will last quite awhile. The plastic screw covers are not worth much. White dot stickers might be just as functional to cover up the screws. 03/22/2011
Not worth the pain! I bought this about 4 years ago because I had a small room with a small closet and needed the storage. I bought this at the store not online.The box was heavy but I didn't think much of it because it was a big unit. I underestimated the size in the store being that it was put up on a higher shelf. The assembly part was ok not too difficult for a 19 year old (then) it took me an hour but the parts were heavy.The structure is very CHEAP, the back of it is cardboard and if you put too much things in it, it will start to come off; not to mention that is attached with tiny screws ( which come off too much) I had to have it re-enforced a few times. This also becomes extremely wobbly ( meaning) if you put too much weight on it, it starts to lean to the side. All I had in there were blankets, comforters, and a few hand bags. If you plan on moving it around good luck! You'll have to take everything out and than move it because if empty it's heavy with things in it, it becomes IMPOSSIBLE to move. The shelves inside are ok, but because mine was wobbly the shelves continued to fall off. I dissambled it once to have it reinforeced but the cardboard on the back began to fall apart. If this cardboard is not tighten enough it will cause the whole structure to be wobbly and insecure.All in all I got rid of it - buy something more sturdy and make sure the back is not cardboard. Spend the extra bucks on something that has actual plywood or wood in the back to hold the thing together. 09/07/2011
Huge, bulky and extremely heavy when it arrived. Had two friends come help me put it together. Took a while to do. Only one option for one of the shelf heights, the others were movable. That didn't work for me so we went rogue and created another hole to mount the shelf. The back is not really sturdy - it's just a piece of cardboard, so you can't put so much weight on it. One of the door hinges was bent so the door would not close all the way, but we were able to hammer it into the correct positioning. You get what you pay for with this product: extra storage with no frills. Ikea is only slightly nicer. Functional and adds storage where there wasn't any. 08/23/2011
