  • A. No. Works great in a normally, not brightly, lit room. It doesn't have to be dark.

  • A. A dark room is not necessary. The television has a brighter setting, I believe called "dynamic", that we use for daylight viewing. We actually find the regular image more comfortable with at least one low light in the room.

  • A. Plasma tvs are "best suited" for dark areas because of possible glaring on their *glass* screens. It helps if there's not a ton of sunshine in the room. And Im also pretty sure it just depends on where the sunlight is coming from. There are two large windows directly facing the plasma tv in my den on the opposite wall. But a simple set of blinds & curtains (which most people already have over their windows) do just fine in preventing glares. No need to black out the windows or anything drastic. Just a little shade when it comes to sunny days.

  • A. Ideally you would want light sources coming from the sides or behind the tv. However, my living room has 8 windows in it and I rarely notice any signifcant reflections.

  • A. i put it in the trunk of my dads 2001 buick century and had to tie the trunk closed it wasnt to bad my 15 year old daughter carried one end of it it has these nice holes built into the box that made it easy, and my daughter is very petite shes only 5 ft 1in and barely 105lbs.

  • A. It's not so very heavy, but because of size you should have someone help you. It should fit ok in your hatchback. I can't say for sure, since I don't have the box any more, but I think it was about 45 inches long and about 32 inches wide.

  • A. The boxed unit weighs about 40 lbs with the box being about 40" X 30". Plazas should always transported and stored in the same position as displayed- vertically. So if your car can accommodate those dimensions, great. If not a van or would be perfect. Good luck.

I did a ton of research trying to decide which tv would best suit my needs. I finally landed on this Samsung and it is a perfect budget tv. It is pretty barebones, but with my xbox one I didn't need any of the smart tv features. The sound quality is great and can be incredibly loud, I typically keep the tv volume between 5-10 out of 100, so you can imagine what 100 must sound like. I play a lot of video games and watch a lot of sports, so I went with plasma for the refresh rates and this tv is perfect. There is no blurring whatsoever. There are a lot of picture options to tweak the picture and color to your specifications. The only problem I have with this TV is that the mirror is extremely reflective so if you are watching something dark with the lights on, you will see a massive reflection of the room. This is entirely gone when the TV is not displaying black pictures, but could definitely be annoying to some people. I would not get this tv if you are in a very well lit room for this reason. However, for $380 you cannot beat this tv!!!

Went from a huge old CRT flat screen to this....WOW! Hardest part of the whole project was removing the old TV. Set up so fast I was startled LOL Went by all the postive reviews on this model and the price. Decided to go with Samsung over the lesser known brands, even though it more expensive....good move. We were up most of the night watching it. Don't let the darker picture in the store compared to LED deter you. It's the store lighting. Google "Plasma looks darker in store." This is an experiment. See how we like this one, then use as a 2nd TV get a bigger screen next. I got a ROKU 3 also. That is truly amazing. I'm an old guy, but pretty good with computers and technology. ROKU is a breeze to install. I could see where you could cut the cable with one and save a ton of money. Walmart purchase perfect also. Purchased online picked up at the store within a half hour (on a Sunday) About an hour for the whole project, including removing the old monster, had to get a couple of young backs for that.

Plasma's days seem numbered Shopping for a husband is eazy-peazy compared to a TV. Hours online researching, paid off... since retail clerks' hokus-pokus in electronics stores are STILL right out of "The Forty Year Old Virgin". Cable & Sat broadcasts are all 720p. Analog RGB cables equal HDMI and give better image-control flexibility. I see with one VERY sharp eye, so 3D's out. I'll not stew about Blue-Ray until there are great movies. Panasonic's ducking out of Plasma, and 720p for 720p, Samsung's critically preferred. I also have a 50" Panasonic institutional HD monitor that cost nine-times this one's $378. Trust me! It looked dim/poor at my Walmart... but it's GREAT in my room... from any angle. Simplicity itself... even the SOUND is nice... though I have a good 5.1 system for it. It's "returnable", thank you Walmart... but this one's staying PUT. Compared to the 32" LCD it replaced... 43" fits in my same limited space and FOOTBALLS ARE MUCH BIGGER !!!

Works as advertised out the box. Very light weight with only a 1" black laquer bezel. Stand does not swivel, but viewing angles are excellent. Reflections are not an issue as long as you don't have a light source in line of vision. I'm using factory settings, except I turned off the ECO SOLUTION. With only 2 hdmi connections, I'll be getting a hdmi switcher to connect the PC e.g., Portta PET0301S @ $10 on amazon or eBay The 2 hdmi connections are along the left side. I didn't like the cable weight supported by the connector, so I just duct taped the cable to the tv cabinet to take the weight off the connector. TV was manufactured in early Spring 2013. Firmware is v1022.0. Comcast remote setup #10812 When you're screwing in the stand base, make note of the serial number on the left rear. Registration at samsung.com gets you an additional 3 months warranty.

For the price this is an exceptional value. Once it arrived, I immediately set it up. The picture and sound quality are far better then I expected for the money I spent. The picture is nice, crisp, and clear. I did not have to do anything other then hook up my cable and run the setup. I have only been using this item for about 2 weeks and I don't feel that I will encounter any problems. But since I purchased this on-line and did not see it up close and personal, I did purchase the 3 year extended warranty. It was only a few buck more, but it gives me a great deal of comfort. I hope that this tv doesn't have problems but I can relax because I know I'm covered, no matter what happens. I would recommend this item to others based upon what I have seen so far with it. I am very satisified.

The Samsung PN43F4500 43" 720p 600Hz Class Plasma HDTV has an excellent refresh speed which makes movement crisp and clean. The pixelization for the 43" screen also makes crisp still images. We chose this one for its true colors, especially skin tones. The reds are not over-saturated and don't bleed. The television has a brighter setting, which we can use during daytime, or when the setting sun is coming in the window, but for evening viewing the regular setting gives great color and clean images. AND our eyes are not tired, even after hours of watching. We already had one of these, which we purchased a year or more ago, to replace a 7-8 year old plasma. We liked it so much, and the price was so great, for Christmas we went back for a second one for our bedroom.

I've had this set for almost 3 weeks now and couldn't be happier. I took a lot of time to read reviews on many sites before purchasing it. Since Panasonic bailed out of the 40ish plasma market, this is the best available today. If you compare in the stores chances are this tv will look dark and washed out next to the LED sets. Most homes don't have anywhere near the amount of lighting that stores have. Used in a normal home setting the picture is fabulous. In a totally dark room the picture is fabulous. Oh, I think I used that one already. In a bright room it still looks dang good. After all you don't have 20 other tvs sitting next to it to compare. What about 720 vs 1080? To get 1080 today you will need to jump up to at least 50 inches and much more $$. On this size set from a normal viewing distance anywhere beyond 8 feet you won't be able to tell the difference. Get your tape measure out. Chances are you sit further than that already. The screen does have a reflection. So did my old set. The audio is pretty good for normal tv viewing. For dvd or blue ray you should run it though a separate sound system anyway. If you are looking for perfection dig deep in your wallet. For a tv with a fabulous picture, yes I said it again, you can't find a better deal. If you think you need a larger set, there is a 51 inch version of this tv for a little more. If you want smart tv functionality, buy a Sony blue ray player for around $100.

Great picture. First one was great for 10 days and just like that in the middle of a movie, the picture lost it's luster. Then red dots all over the screen. Plugged in into the HD box where the king resides (50" 1080P Pioneer plasma) & still bad artifacts & red dots refreshing all over. Samsung online help gave it a valiant effort with no fix. Decided to take it back and Wal Mart was first class and first rate in an exchange for another. Didn't even have to take it back to the original store where it was purchased. They were out of them. So another store cheerfully took it back for an exchange. The replacement has been awesome. This 720P Plasma smokes the 1080P LED'S. And the sound is quite good and surprisingly deep. I would recommend this TV to a friend in a heart beat. Quick note: The clerk made the comment that he was surprised they had one. He said they can't keep this model in stock because it sells so well.

Considering price, 720p resolution, and 20 watt sound output, this tv is a great value. The picture color and detail is awesome on satellite and internet streams. (Note, you do not get 1080p thru cable or satellite.) The sound is excellent on the tv; no vibration or tinniness. I have had the tv for five months and have not bothered to connect the sound bar I have for it, but will do so since I bought it. In sum, this is a high quality buy at a bargain price in the $400 range. I researched this purchase and am convinced this is the best buy available for a plasma w/720p picture.

Beautiful TV

My house previously had 3 flatscreens. A Vizio 37" LCD in my parents' bedroom. A Sanyo 26" LCD in my bedroom, and a Samsung plasma 51" in the main room. I never liked the Vizio. It always seemed to have poor sound quality (and I DO mean poor) & the picture wasn't that great either. The "51 inch plasma in the den was a gamble, as I had always heard horrible things about plasma tvs. But it was one of the best decisions we've ever made. When set up through HDTV, the picture is stunning & sound quality is great. Just an all around great value. That price ($600 at the time) could NOT be beat for a telley of that size. My 26" Sanyo has always been a great tv but my eyes were becoming strained from watching such a small picture from so far away. So I decided to upgrade to a larger tv for the bedroom. I started to go with a larger Sanyo, because I've never had trouble out of the one I have. But I decided to just go with the 43" version of the Samsung because it's a great value. And we've had no trouble out of the 51". I'm very happy with my decision. Sure the refresh rate isn't as high as it could be, & neither is the level of High definition. It's not a smart tv....But I couldn't care any less about that stuff and neither should you. Most people often buy the "latest & greatest" in technology & either rarely or never use the high tech features they paid extra for in the first place! The way I see it, if a TV has a great picture & sound, it's more than good enough. Now if you think you'd actually use all the bells & whistles all the newer tvs have to offer, then by all means go with one. But if you're simple folk like me, go with a Samsung plasma. You cant beat the price for what you're getting!!
