    • A. Yes it does its wireless, Blu Ray refers how the disk are made so to hold more information plus laser is a narrow band laser making it able to read more compact code generally its hardware specifications. The question is not in Blu Ray but in what codes did the player come with and can it be updated with newer codec. MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC, H.264, SMPTE VC-1 should be supported check the players specks which aren't always correct by the way. It has two lasers narrow and wide band unless its a blu burner I don't know look it up and get back to me.

We have an older Samsung player that only has Blockbuster, Netflix, Pandora and YouTube pre-installed and does not have - to the best of our knowledge - the ability to add additional apps. I'm curious what apps are pre-installed on this model.

    • A. This player has all the ones you listed above plus there are a variety of apps that you can get from the Samsung Internt TV sight, You tube, Accuweather, and many more. They even have a SEC Channel app if you live in the south and love sports.

    • A. None, but it has an "app store" like feature to add them from, and automatically installs some the first time you launch the "Internet @ TV" app. I suggest fully updating the player's firmware before launching internet @ for the first time. One annoyance is that it has recommended apps at the top of the home and internet @ screens that can't be modified. On mine as of my typing this they are Vudu, Hulu, Netflix, Pandora and Fandango.

    • A. I just bought one of these and If I recall it had nexflix, pandora and that other stuff pre- installed, but you can go to the samsung app store and download all kinds of different apps just by using the internet connection and remote control. You have 1 gb of memory so it's possible to download many apps. For example I downloaded the news, weather and vudu hd apps.

Pros: plays everything it is supposed to and a couple it isn't, It played a DVD audio title (Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas Extraordinaire) and passed the 96khz music on to my AVR over HDMI. This player isn't supposed to be able to play DVD-A. Cons: no option to turn off autoplay for inserted disks, IE if it is powered off with a Blu-Ray or DVD in the drive it will start to play it upon power-on and you must press stop or menu to cancel. Also it occasionally has no sound in the Netflix app and needs a reboot to get it back, Samsung PC share manager (on XP Home SP3) maxes out your memory and crashes if you try to add too many files at once (I have 1.25GB). I bought this model after having researched it heavily over about a week's time. Thus far I love it and it works well. It plays files both from the USB port and over the network just fine. The remote control is traking some time to "break in" in that at first you have to push the buttons fairly hard to get it to respond but the required force is dropping over time and use. I usually control it with the AVR's remote anyway. Overall it seems like a very nice unit.

This bluray player is pretty good quality and the options are awesome. Even the samsung TVs are great, but there is one major problem with the Samsung apps. It requires a lot of keyed inputs. You would think it would come with some kind of small keyboard, but it doesn't. This makes it a pain to enter text and using the internet apps almost useless. What is the point with all the apps when there's not an easy way to enter text. Please consider a remote with a small keyboard for text entry, including the TVs that comes with internet apps. Also I'm experiencing a problem with UPNP streaming. It only displays 3 screen worth of files and folders when I have so many more files and folders on the computer shared drive. My ps3 has no problem seeing all of it but the player only sees 3 page full no matter if I'm in video or photos. The lack of 3d bluray is also hurting bluray in general. I guess that's not Samsung's fault but Samsung should include something to test out the 3d blurays.

I checked all the reviews prior to this purchase and most of them seemed good. When I received the 3D Biu-Ray Player, I was impressed with the way it looked. We attached everything and the blu-ray movie wouldn't load. When it did load the print out on the screen froze or we couldn't change screens. I thought maybe the firmware was outdated. Called Samsung and found out that the firmware version on the player was 08 which should have been 12. Which could be why the Disney Movies didn't play for some people as stated in their reviews. If it was a refurbished unit, why wasn't it updated while they had it ??????? Samsung Representives were very helpful but this procedure took about 1/2 of one day. With the help of a cell phone camera, we found out the remote was working but apparently the player sensor itself was not. Also, I missed somewhere along the way that a refurbished unit only has a 90 day warranty. Packed it up and took it back to Walmart, and had no problems with retuning the player. Thanks, Walmart. I purchased a different new one from Best Buy for $30 more with a full warranty.

I already owned a Samsung 3d player with internet built-in and this one is for the bedroom. Same quality and same features as the full priced one. You will not be disappointed with this player and cannot beat this price. Make sure if you are looking for streaming music or movies like Netflix and Pandora get one like this with built-in internet and not internet ready. If you buy the internet ready expect to put another $70 in a plug-in USB network receiver/antenna.

Great Features at a low price, just because it was labeled as a refurbished unit. Built in Wi-Fi, makes it simple to connect to the internet. I now realize, there's nothing wrong with buying a refurbished samsung.

This player is awesome, and i am pretty picky. I was a little weary from reviews i read on other sites about functionality, but it was such a great buy, and i sold my dad my 2&1/2 year old samsung plasma to upgrade myself to a 3d tv so i wanted to get him a samsung player so he could use the same tv remote to control everything and not worry about leaving his entertainment doors open. And i always had great experiences with samsung products. I am very technically inclined so i will share my first setup thoughts and steps i did first that i think everyone might want to check and do first. In the menu i navigated to settings/display and thought it was odd how the resolution was set to 480p, which is a basic sd like setting even though was connected through a high speed hdmi with ethernet cable to a 1080p samsung plasma. So i had to easily change that to 1080p. Next i went to network/network settings and network type was by default on a wired setting, so i changed that to wireless. Then i went to network setting to scan for my network and put in the password. Next i went to support/software upgrade, and updated it. Then after that when you select internet@tv it will do another update of the apps. And thats it! I was good to go! I played with it hard all day and had no problems whatsoever. Everything runs good and fast. I mainly used netflix, pandora, and vudu. And the player comes with a 6$ vudu credit!) It is very nice that pandora will play and kick in to a screen saver so that it will not burn an image in to the plasma. And any other menu screen if you dont use it for a few minutes. I am only about 30 feet from my router with a 10mb connection and no major walls the signal has to travel through so i cant speak for the range more than that. People say that the discs dont resume where they left off if you stop the movie, but that is simply untrue. It just depends on how the hollywood production studio made the disc. For example, "the one" blu ray will not resume if stopped, but "transporter" blu ray will resume if stopped and even after the player is power cycled. But no disc will resume after taking the disc out which i could care less about anyway. I tested playing over 20 blu rays and about 10 more dvd's from pretty much every production studio and they all started up fast with no problems, and looked great. Do not fear the refurb, it came as every one else here says in like new condition! No scratches, was factory sealed and had protective plastic stickers on it. Even the remote looked brand new. I personally think certain refurbs from certain manufacturers like samsung are tested and checked out better than the thousands of regular production line models that are produced daily anyway. And i know because i have a lot of factory production experience. I chose standard shipping, and recieved the player in 2 days from fedex. My dad is not technically inclined so much, and seemed to grasp using everything quick

Customer has been confirmed to have purchased the item from Walmart.

I started by purchasing a Samsung 60" plasma flat screen TV from Walmart for $998.00. I next decided to purchase this refurbished blu-ray player for $168.00 and finished off my brand new home theater by purchasing a Samsung refurbished soundbar with wireless subwoofer. I am thrilled to have found all three items for under $1,500.00. As far as the functionality, it plays discs with none of the issues of the dialogue being out of phase with the mouth movements of the characters on screen I read about prior to this transaction. I was able to connect wirelessly to the internet within five minutes thanks to the WIFI we have through our satellite service. The only problem I have experienced is that I have no sound when watching Netflix movies, but I am confident this is an issue with the settings that I can resolve. If I could afford to I would use this same configuration in every room in my house.

Item was delivered on time but when I took it out of the box and began connecting it to the internet, the player would say online but would never connect all the way.I called Samsung twice. I was instructed to do a hard reset both times but it did not solve the problem so I took it back for a refund. Caught a new 6500 on sale at best buy brought it home hooked it up and it connected right away. I buy refurbished all the time, this is a first for me buying something that didn't work.

Awesome blue-ray player for the money. Being refurbished isn't a problem so far. Looks and operates like new. Only issue is that I thought it was wireless. My bad. I got around that by moving my router closer to the player for a direct ethernet connection (which is a better connection anyway).
