Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen, White 3.4 5 5 7
Works; let dry completely before topcoat applied This is very handy, even if you are not so steady with your non-dominant hand. You can hold the pen in your non-dominant hand and move the fingers of your dominant hand to get almost perfect lines. My only issue with first use was that I must not have let it dry completely before I brushed a sheer pink color over the top. On two of my fingers my nice, smooth lines turned jagged and the white ended up with almost a crackled look. I ended up adding another slightly darker and glittered pink to disguise it rather than completely redoing those two fingers and it worked until I was ready to repaint. All in all it was a good buy and I will continue to use it. The angle of the tip allows you to make a nice, evenly wide line from the edge of the nail and there's no messing with sticky forms that leave a bump of polish or peel off your base coat.A base coat, two coats of white nail art pen on the tips, two full coats of regular polish and a quick drying top coat left me with a nice, smooth finish. Two notes: You will NEED two coats and do not ever shake the pen with the cap off. 02/13/2011
Love these pens! Loves these pens! They are so fun! Little bit pricey for fingernail polish but they are great! 04/26/2010
Cheap look, Pricey product Pricey, to start. It was $8 for the tube and I'm not sure how far that'll go. I've tried it two ways: once, I painted my nails, then applied the pen to resemble french tips, then did a top coat. The white tips from the pen easily wiped off, and unless you wait a very long time for it to completely dry, the white ends up looking cracked. The second time I applied the white pen first to look like french tips and then waited a long time for it to dry before putting on two top coats. This was a much better result. I'd suggest using it on a natural (unpolished) nail first if you're going for this look and then applying a clear/light polish after. For fancy designs you'd have to use a different process. It's a 'fun' item, a novelty, and I'm not expecting salon results. I bought this in Vegas and my friend and I applied it while drinking, so it's not a serious thing. Just fun. The results are less than stellar, but lasted 2 days at least. 04/18/2011
It's a Hit or Miss Product! I have the Neon Pink Pen and that works AWESOME, color is a bang on match to the box, covers great and is an attention grabber!!!!!! It doesnt turn bright pink untill you seal it in with the clear coat so dont be discouraged if it looks pale pink at first.- PINK is recomendedI also have the Red (09) and that is more of a burt Orange with a bit of a sparkle. It looks awful and the color doesn't cover very well!!!!- The RED I would NOT recomend buying at all! 05/08/2012
