Item Description

The Perky-Pet Squirrel-Be-Gone Bird Feeder is best used for attracting and feeding birds while keeping the squirrels from reaching the seed. A classic among squirrel proof feeders, this wild bird feeder has ports that close under a squirrels weight, preventing it from raiding the seed supply. Perky-Pet Squirrel-Be-Gone Bird Feeder Model # 336
A classic among squirrel proof feeders, this metal bird feeder has ports that close under a squirrels weight, preventing the squirrel from raiding the seed supply.
The Perky-Pet Squirrel-Be-Gone metal bird feeder features six feeding ports, U-shaped perches and a 3.4 lb. seed capacity. The feeding ports have sturdy metal perches that allow birds to feed comfortably but, when the squirrels perch on them, their weight causes the entire metal casing to slip down, completely blocking the feeding ports and their access to the seed. The interior seed tower is surrounded by rustic metalwork.
The six perch/feeding station set-up, coupled with the anti-squirrel technology makes this feeder one of the most economical and convenient squirrel proof feeders on the market! Comes fully assembled.
Remember to clean your squirrel proof feeders once every two weeks with mild soap and water solution.

Customer Product Reviews

Rated 3.3 out of 5★ by 56reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5★ by SQUIRREL BEGONE FDR My initial love affair with this feeder soon died. When the outer shell drops under the weight of the squirrel, a barrier in the shape of a tree leaf, blocks the opening to the food.A squirrel, with his powerful teeth, broke one of the metal leaves off the shell, and threw it on the ground. This exposed the food and he began to eat fast. I put the leaf back and wired it shut.In no time, a squirrel bent away another one of the metal leaves that blocked the food. With that barrier out of the way, he just began eating. So what's this claim about "Squirrel-proof"?And I haven't even begun to complain about the wet food that caked and rotted in the feeder. The smell was so bad that the birds would not eat.And I haven't even begun to complain about the difficulty in cleaning the feeder. I needed tools to drill out the rivets so that I could open up the feeder.I threw it away. 05/26/2009
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Thin inside plastic tube. This feeder worked for about 3-4 months until the squirrels wised up. The squirrels were able to chew a very large hole through that very thin see through plastic tubing. With no warranty I have to through it away. I recommend finding an all metal squirrel proof bird feeder! See my attached pics. 07/31/2010
Rated 2 out of 5★ by Yes But No I bought one, and it's done just fine, but to be honest, I really don't have major squirrel issues (knock wood). The hawks keep mine in check. But I went ahead and bought one for my mother anyway, who has Major league Giant red squirrels in Arkansas. Needless to say, they were laughing the whole time I was putting up this feeder. They took apart the spring assembly with a blow torch, and now even the birds can't get seed either. Also note worthy: I haven't figured out to clean it, which is very important. Please Keep All Feeders Clean! 01/14/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Love my birdfeeders I have three windows on the east side of my family room. I bought this birdfeeder a couple to three years ago and left it out during the winter hanging under the eave in front of one of the windows. It is still in great shape. I bought my 2nd one, last year to go along with my 1st birdfeeder, and placed it in front of the 2nd window under the eave and left it out during the winter also, to enjoy watching the birds. I don't even know which one I bought first, because they are both in great condition. I'm getting ready to buy my 3rd one to place in the 3rd window. So I guess you understand now, I do love this birdfeeder!!!My feeders are hung on "C" hooks which makes it easy to take down to fill them with birdseed. I pour the birdseed out of a big plastic pitcher into the birdfeeder with great ease.I do live in a heavy squirrel populated area. I've seen a squirrel jump on one of the birdfeeders twice the whole time I've owned them and the squirrel just swung upside down and then jumped to the fence and then to the tree because no birdseed would come out. It did no harm to my feeders. It just brought laughter and joy. : ) 05/23/2009
Rated 1 out of 5 Not Squirrel proof at all I bought this item in hopes it would keep the squirrel's out of my feeder but it didn't work. They had it figured out in three days. I returned it..... 07/17/2009
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Relief from squirrels Finally a bird feeder that sucessfully prevents squirrels from eating all the food in the birdfeeder. Every time a squirrel gets on the feeder the spring-loaded wire cover closes and the squirrels are out of luck! I've only had this product a short time, but am very pleased with it so far.Note: We have raccoons in our area too and the raccoon was able to shake the food out of the feeder. Of course the past feeders were no match at all for the raccoons either. Now I move all the bird feeders (including the hummingbird feeder) to S-hooks on my gutter at night which is when the raccoons come calling. 06/03/2009
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Squirrels love it! This is the second one I was stupid enough to buy. As with the first one, the squirrels use the wire grid to hang on, then bend the little decorative leaves up, then empty the bird feeder in under an hour. Apparently no testing was done, this product is expensive and definitely does not work. Maybe you should call it a squirrel feeder. 09/04/2013
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Not Squirrel Proof I got this feeder as a gift. After a month, the squirrels had figured out that they could bend the metal leaves and get to the food. After about 4 months, the springs rusted and the feeder fell apart and I threw it away. 05/17/2014
