I had this same trash can for over 7 years and they took a beating. The units which were 7 years old where destroyed when then were blown into the street by bad storm and were damaged badly. Can you believe that it took for someone to drive over the cans to destroy them from being used. Great cans looking to getting 10 years out this pair.

Beware: the lid is NOT attached to the cart and if your trash guys are anything like mine, they'll do their best to yank off the lid, hurl it to one side, etc. To prevent that, we attached the lid to the can with heavy-duty zip ties.

I have really liked this trash container. It lasted 2-3 years before cracking one cold winter morning. I still use mine every week and hope to for another 2-3 years, at least. I would recommend this item because it can't be beat for the price.

I'm buying my second Rubbermaid 50-Gallon Wheeled Roughneck Trash Can today because the last one finally died today. The lid died half a year ago. Rubbermaid will replace one lid at no charge it seems, but they're quick to tell you that the next one isn't free. Regardless, it came down to this and the Toter 64 gallon at more than twice the price. I doubt the Toter will last 15+ years, so I'm going with the Rubbermaid again. It's hard to complain too much when a large, wheeled $33 trash can lasts seven years. I suppose I'm OK paying about a penny a day for such a garbage can. I thing 'd appreciate similar value in other aspects of my material life, but then again, what do I know? I'm just a robot.

  • A. Absolutely yes. The handles are molded right into the sturdy plastic. There are 2 "hand" openings, each 5" long, side by side, which allows me to easily tilt & wheel it to the curb- Push or pull, you choose, either way. The handle is sturdy / heavy duty & there are no sharp edges. The snap-lock lid has the same handles molded into the lid's plastic form, & aligns perfectly with the bin, so that they become a single unit for E-Z tilt & roll to curb.

  • A. Yes, this can has a handle to roll to the curb. One of the better designs and a good value except for the blown wheels.

  • A. Yes, the handles are built into the upper portion of the can, on the wheel side. The lids also have handles built into them and a kind of latch on either side, so when they are on and you are rolling the unit to the curb, you are holding the lid on, too.

  • A. Yes, this refuse container has a molded in handle at the top of the can on the same side as the wheels to easily roll the container from the garage to the curb. Thank you for your interest in our products.

  • A. NO. We used heavy-duty zip ties to attach the lid so the trash guys wouldn't lose it for us.

  • A. The lid is a separate piece that latches with a press-lock kind of fit on either side. You lift on either side via a place for your hand and it unlatches when the lid flexes. I have two of these going on 6 years old and the lids stay on very well when latched, even with critters and high winds. I do keep them in my unheated garage till I take them out to the street.

  • A. The lid on this industrial strength refuse container is a snap-fit lid. The lid is not attached to the base but can be snapped on or off as needed.
