Rated 4 out of 5★ by Good bike for the price This is a good bike for the price. It took a few more adjustments to the front brakes than should have been, but was generally easy to assemble. My 13 year old son received it for his birthday. He loves it. The biggest problem with it is the smell. We had it in our basement in the box for a few days before his birthday. It made our whole basement smell like moth balls. It now makes our garage smell like moth balls. Very odd, but we're hoping the smell will disappear with time. 04/15/2014
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Roadmaster 24" Bike Bike assembled less than 30 min and the bike is well made with the packaging stabilized the parts. The grandson loved the bike. He is a tall 1st grader, so the 24" bike was a necessity. 06/17/2014
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Bike had some minor discrepancies This is a very good bike for the price. I had to readjust the front brakes once I got it home. It was a simple fix. I am grateful for fact that it was already put together. The person who put it together is allowed a mistake here and there given the fact they he/she are putting together a multiple of bikes together daily. 05/13/2014
Rated 1 out of 5★ by This is not a very durable bike. I purchased this bike for my 11-year-old son. He rode it for 2 days, primarily on the street and through a few trails. After the 2nd day of riding the bike, I noticed that the back will was wobbling. Therefore, I took it back to Walmart to see if it could be repaired. The bike assembler took a look at it and said it was in repairable because the back wheel bearings had become dislodged.Instead of ordering the same bike, I chose to purchase a mongoose at about $15 more than the road master bike. As of today, I have had no problems with the mongoose bike. 07/26/2014
Rated 2 out of 5★ by Mine was a lemon, but it may have been a fluke I ordered this bike online mainly because I drive a compact car with limited back seat space, so picking it up from the store wouldn't have been practical for me. It ships from walmart in the factory package (aka big brown box) with Roadmaster Granite written on the side as well as other "bicycle related" information printed on it. Our UPS driver is good and hid the box behind our bushes that obscured its view from the road. Crime in our neighborhood is fairly low, but it made me realize this box would be a pretty tempting target for a thief since you essentially know what is inside. Maybe not packing it in a second box, but at least some strategically placed shipping lables or that brown wrapping paper coving it up would probably suffice.Assembly was straight forward. Attach front wheel, connect bicycle seat, add handle bars, screw on pedals and that's about it. You will need tools, nothing fancy just a hex wrench for attaching the handle bars, and a few wrenches (I think a 15 metric for f. wheel and something else for the seat). If you have limited or no skill with assembling stuff, you might want to seek help but for your average joe, it isn't hard to put together. So now here comes my negative experiance...After 2 days of light riding (to the grocery store and around the neighborhood), the nut holding the gears on the rear wheel came loose, causing all of the gears slide off the hub (sorry, I'm not a bike person so I don't know their technical names). This made it so that when I attempted to pedal, the rear wheel would not spin. The chain would pull the gear it is on, the gear would turn, but the wheel would not. Just to eliminate any confusion, I am not referring to the nuts holding the rear wheel to the bike frame. Those DID NOT come loose and at no time was I in any danger. Just any ability to move forward was the problem. The hub this bike uses appears to be "tapered". I'm not sure if this is standard in the bike world, but after searching online for a bit it didn't appear to be common. I figured the nut was improperly tightened, so I set the gears back in place, added some "blue" locktite to the threads and tightened it back down. One thing about the nut, it is threadded on it's outside and slips into the hub. The nut's "shoulders" are what is pressed against the first gear. After another day of riding it came loose again, so this time I reinstalled everything, used "red" locktite, and staked (deliberatly deformed causing a mechanical obsctuction) to the nut and the threads of the hub. So far so go, without any loseness or play.So why go through all of this when I could simply return the bike? Well like I mentioned before I'm not able to do it with my car, so I'm left to paying for shipping for a refund. Plus I'm a DIY'er so this fix appealed to me. As I stated before, I may have had a lemon. I read the reviews of this bike prior to purchase, and most praised it. So I assume my issue is a fluke. Besides my problem, the price was great, assembly was what I expected it to be, and shipping to my home took about a day. I think this would be a great beginners bike or something to ride around the neighborhood with without making a huge financial investment, especially if you don't see yourself using it all the time. 08/21/2014
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Not for the serious rider. I have ridden this bike for a little over a month for exercise and the center chain ring is already wearing out to the point where some of the teeth are down to nubs. The problem is the chain rings are made out of cheap stamped steel and can't take the wear of regular use. If you plan on using this bike on a daily basis it won't last. Upgrade to a professional level. 05/19/2014
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Perfect for a DIYer! If you like a bike that needs constant fixing, then this is the one to get. From the steering bar that keeps popping loose to the breaks that have to be tightened about twice a week, and the tires...oh man, the tires. No matter how much green goo you put in, they always find a way to lose all the air. This bike needs fixing practically every day. 06/07/2014
