Riddle is used by the NFL for a reason ... For the price this is a well made protector. My boys find them more comfortable and protective than the pads / plates that hang from the shoulder pads.They stay close to the body so an opposing player can't get their "hands on them" like the plates. Neither can a hit go under them like the plates.The sizing range is exact. The only negitive is that the velcro could be of higer quality, but if you care for it it will last as long as your boy fits the protector. It would be easy to replace as well. 09/13/2010
