No. I just cut my hair above my shoulders and I still use it. It's a little harder to use with shorter hair but it still works. It gives a lot of volume.

My hair is an inverted bob that is above the shoulders in the back and barely passed my shoulders in the front. I just used it and absolutely love it!

you can use it but dont expect spirals, puts in loose waves at best. you're better off with a 1/4" regular curling iron

It definitely took me some practice, but by the end I was using it like a pro.
I would wear the glove so you don't burn your hand.
Youtube.com also has some videos you can watch. Revlon made one to use as a tutorial.

First time use, use the lowest heat setting. Up the heat setting depending on your hair type. Point the wand down and wrap the hair up. Only hold for a few seconds, or you risk burning your hair.

I absolutely LOVE this curling wand! The shape of the wand allows me to make two types of curls, one that is more like a wave, and one that is more like a barrel curl. It is easy to use, the cord is nice and long, and the control knob and power switch is located in a place that is convenient and cannot be accidentally adjusted during use. The curls stay in for a LONG time, survived humidity without frizzing and I woke up the next day with them almost perfect still. I definitely would recommend this product.

Been searching for something to give me the perfect 'beachy' wave. This product does just that! Provides beautiful curls with lots of volume! Great price would definitely recommend! !!!!

awesome price. works really well with getting loose curls. the heat glove is a must! I am not good at fixing my hair. But this wand works better with loose curls than a curling iron or straight iron. straight irons would pull my hair too much. I practice and am getting a little bit better every time. My daughters hair turned out nice and it went quickly, she has a lot of hair. I am happy with it.

Lots of volume

I actually bought it for my Granddaughter Riona, she is 13, and she absolutely loves it! My Daughter, her Mother said it is the cutest thing and works better than anything she's ever had 'like' it. She's really enjoying it!

Revlon Curl Magic Ceramic Styling Wand

this curling iron is the absolute best...I love the curls it gives. The curls last all day and I slept in them and they were still there in the morning! I absolutely love this product.

LOVE it!

I have long but thin hair, so my first time trying it was actually really good, if I wash my hair and just let it air dry and don't straighten my hair first before curling, it will curl my hair really nicely! The bubbles in the wand I don't think make a big difference to the way your hair curls, I wouldn't mind trying a straight wand though, just to compare... over all the product does it's job :-)

A little hard at first to use on yourself, but once you practice some it's easier. Curls stay all day. My advise is to watch videos on how to use a wand. Even people who have used these wands before, have still burn their hair off. In all I like the product.

I used this according to the directions, but couldn't get used to it. I really wish that it could have been easier as it was a good price.

Can't get the hang of it

I dont know how this got so many good reviews. I'm returning mine. I used it like you would to make spiral curls and it just makes loose waves. You can put your hair in a pony tail, split it into two pieces, twist those two pieces around each other and then wrap that twist around in a bun and clip it to your head on both sides with mini clips and then take it down 8 hrs later and your hair will look the same way this curling iron makes it look but way better. dont waste your money. I will stick to my 1/4" long regular curling iron for actual spiral curls.
