Nice but not practical This is a great additiopn to my childs room HOWEVER: the bottom where the cord is in the middle of the base has NO spot for the cord. So if you want to set it on a dresser you can't. I had a wall mounted stand with slates (holes) so I could run the cord down it BUT I had never planned on it.So allthough it's a great lamp they need to add a spot under the base to put the cord.I hope that I explained this enough to helpful to others. 06/20/2009
El Cheapo I shouldnt have expected much for the price, however, I would like to give the advice to others that are interested.. dont waste your dollars on this one! Spend a few more bucks to get better quality. The saying is true to this item, You get what you pay for! 12/27/2011
A Heads Up I was very disappointed to open the box for this lamp and see that the base looks more like a "painted" silver than an actual silver. Therefore, I disagree with the review that says it does not look cheap. If only they would have changed that one feature! If you don't mind that look, then try this one out -- it seems cute enough if that doesn't bother you. Also, the colors in the lamp shade are not as vivid as shown in the picture.The lamp I received does not seem to have any issues with the power cord laying flat under the base, and it seems like having the switch on the power cord might be nice...but it's still going back to the store. 02/10/2011
