Customer Product Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5★ by 109reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5★ by practical, fuss-free and comparatively safe I hate power-mowing the lawn. I hate policing the lawn for rocks and sticks, futzing with the gas and oil, pulling the hand crank at just the right angle with just the right speed to get the engine to catch, being hit with chunks of things you couldn't possibly have seen because, well, the grass wasn't cut yet, etc. Because I hate that, this reel mower has been a godsend. If I walk out the door and see the grass needs mowing (or I missed a spot), I unfold it from its corner and shove it around a little bit. No fuss, no muss, no prep, no trips to the gas station, no bother. The pros: it is easy to assemble (my 11 y.o. did it), cuts grass and other basally growing plants pretty well (be warned that it comes out of the box set to scalp, so you will want to adjust the height up before the first mow), and stores upright in about a 12"x16" space in the garage. The cons: it knocks over, rather than cuts, tall skinny shoots like flower heads, so there's probably some handweeding in your future until that's eradicated unless you started cutting the grass back in February before this stuff bloomed; it binds on sticks and pine bark, but that can be cleared by rotating the reel backwards with a properly-shod foot; it won't bushhog, mulch your leaves, or mow your ditches and steep inclines; and heaven help you if you are one of those landed-gentry types with the 2-acre lot--you'll be mowing for the rest of your life. It is also a little louder than I expected it to be, but that may just mean I need to get out the WD40. I've not owned it very long, so it may drop dead later, but all in all, for my suburban lot and rather-not-be-bothered mindset, this mower is great and I'm happy. 04/08/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Easy to Push I've cut the grass twice with this lawn mower. The first time the grass was about 8" tall. The mower cut through it but missed a few thicker weeds that folded down under the blades. Once I pulled the weeds, the mower cut everything the second time a week later.I'm a woman who is almost 60 years old and work in an office all day. I had no trouble mowing the lawn. In fact, it was easier and lighter to push than something with a motor. It hardly takes up any room in the corner of the shed. 05/11/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Sturdy, cuts good and really good exercise. I like this mower because it was very easy to put the handles on, take outside and just get going. The multi-blades turning are a little noisy but not even one third as loud as a gas mower. I am not very strong so I am mowing as much as I can then my son takes over (our grass is very thick and our yard is large and very uneven) so, it can be some work but we are getting used to it. It is definitely worth the money as we will be saving so much on gas and oil and our garage won't smell with the gas storage. It is a great upgrade to the push mowers from the 1960's but you still have to pull back and then go forward sometimes depending on the way your yard is and on the edges of the yard. If you wanna save and go a little more "Green" This is great! 05/01/2013
Rated 5 out of 5 This mower is perfect for the small section of my yard, along one side of my home. It's much easier to maneuver than my gas-powered mower through this small space. Also, it's easy to assemble, but remember the blades are sharp, so be careful. 03/26/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by My wife loves this mower! This mower is so easy to use and had very sharp blades. Perfect for our smaller sized yard. Love that I don't have to fill it with gas, or mess with the motor. Nope- just grab and go. Mowing the yard takes only a few minutes! 06/12/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 Awesome works great on huge yard!!!!! I have a HUGE back yard and this thing amazed me with how well it worked-it cut the grass right down short -it doesn't work on weeds well but for grass its awesome and doesn't hurt the environment with gas-cant go wrong i highly recommend this to anyone even someone with slopes and a big yard i live in GA so you know my land isn't flat and my lot is an acre! 05/23/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Excellent for Small Jobs I'm renting a house with a very small, very sparse lawn and need to keep the weeds trimmed. This little Remington performs admirably. Once it gets moving, it is very easy to push and cuts grass & weeds like a champ. Like every push-reel mower, it does get snagged on small twigs, dirt/rocks, and thick clumps of grass, and even though motorless, it is rather weighty. But for the job I need done, it's perfect and nicely priced. 04/22/2013
