Just finished building my HTPC case yesterday. The only challenge was to fit my hands inside it while assembling the computer. Components used: - Raidmax ITX Case with Power Supply - this case - ZOTAC 880GITX-A-E AM3 - AMD Athlon II X2 250 Regor 3.0GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Processor ADX250OCGQBOX - 8GB DDR3 1333 memory (2x4GB) - DVD-RW - plan to upgrade to a Blu-Ray drive when prices come down - 1TB HDD I suggest using a low profile CPU cooler - the one on the boxed Athlon 65W CPU seems to fit well. There will be a few millimeters of clearance between the bottom of the DVD-RW and the top of the CPU HSF. You may need to add 2x50mm and 1x80mm fans if you want lower temperatures inside the case. (These are not included with the case.) Other facts: - It is very easy to remove its front panel. - Used electrical zip ties to secure wires inside the case. - Added 3 additional fans (see above), reduced their voltage to 7V - their leads are soldered onto a molex female connector between the 12V and 5V, therefore they receive reduced voltage - reduced RPM, therefore reduced noise. One thing to look out for: sharp edges of the steel parts, you can seriously cut your hand - wear gloves and be cautious. Please mind that it can only house one (1) 3.5" HDD and one (1) CD/DVD/BR 5.25" drives.

Nice case overall. I used an Intel D2700MUD ITX motherboard. The hard drive mount is on the top ... I noticed some excess heat when I touched the topside of the case. ... I then mounted one exhaust fan to keep the box cool. I used an old 3 wire CPU cooler fan. ... now the box runs nice an cool. Would be a super deal if came with an exhaust fan...oh well!

After searching around the web for a cheap mini ITX enclosure I came to this case - which is the one I already have and given to me for free. There are others for $40 but it's going to cost you shipping, whereas you may save a few bucks on this one if you order and have it ship-to-store. I've pretty much finished assembling my system and the key thing I've noticed is there is not much space between the one slot for a discrete video card and the power supply, which pretty much eliminates any card with a decent size heat sink. They DO have after market cooling solutions which mounts the heatsink on the other side of the card, I happen to have one - but if you're doing a new build you're looking at investing more money, which would not have been necessary if the case just had another inch or not even that. Although it will take a full height card, it would have been better to have a low profile case that gave more room for the video card heatsink. Another feature I wish they would have had is to make the top (presumably the hard drive mounting area? I am working with a used case so I don't have all the info if it came with the new retail package in the first place) an external drive bay instead of a strictly internal one. Maybe other combinations are possible, like a slim optical drive along with something else in that space but I would just like the option of having a card reader installed along with optical for the most option in removable media. If you're getting a motherboard with onboard video and won't need another video card, then this probably will do fine. If you want to upgrade to a better card, you might just start with another case to begin with.

Needed an itx case for my Atom d525mw. I was pleasantly surprised on its heaftyness. A good structured case- i've dealt with much much worse, I give it 5 stars cause I would buy it again, My only gripe is that my full sized dvd-rom (5.25) atx size had to be jury rigged to fit but I'm partial to blame considering I could of bought a slimline dvd for $80.00 instead , I opted for the $17.00 LITE-ON SPECIAL. New system is 1. atom d525mw-2. 4 gb memory3.-crucial cm 64gb ssd. and a broadcom crystal for mpeg 2 and h264.in mini pci slot. All in all a well thought out fanless itx case.
