"Ragamuffin" is based on the life of Rich Mullins, a musical prodigy who rose to Christian music fame and fortune only to walk away and live on a Navajo reservation. An artistic genius, raised on a tree farm in Indiana by a callous father, Rich wrestled all of his life with the brokenness and crippling insecurity born of his childhood. blu rays will not play on a DVD or most laptop computers.

Also available in DVD. Blu Ray requires a special player. A DVD can be played on a laptop.

1. It is on blue ray. 2.It is also available on DVD.
3. Blue Ray can only be played on Blue ray.
4. Laptop...it depends: if you computer can play blue ray as in a blue ray player, then I am pretty sure it will play blue ray, however, if it only plays DVD, then it will not play blue ray DVD.
5. I believe regular DVD can be played on Blue Ray players but not vice versa.
6. Again, it all depends on the electronic set up you have. So, check to be sure if you have DVD or Blue Ray player with both tv and laptop.

Ragamuffin is available on DVD and BluRay. Both can be ordered online. They are also available in stores (but it sounds like stock varies).

A BluRay requires a special BluRay player and cannot be played on a DVD or laptop computer.

This movie was available in DVD and Blueray at the Walmart I purchased it from. DVD played on my laptop as that was the way I watched the movie.

It is available in both formats. You can play a DVD on a Blue Ray but not the other way around.

There is a non-blue-ray edition available. I bought 4 at my Wal-mart last night. I do not believe you can play a blue-ray on a non-blue ray DVD player.

This movie is available on DVD. I don't know the answer to your other question about what can be played on a computer.

It is available in regular DVD format. To play a blue ray disc you need a blue ray player. I believe a blue ray is backward compatible and will play reg DVDs but not the other way around.

It was a very laid back movie, no loud music to blow your ears off. I think the message was so powerful and many parents should see this movie so they can see what there negative words and the lack of love they do not give their children can destroy their lives. This is the main topic of the story. I am glad it was not a fast moving story because I did not miss any scenes.

I learned a lot about the background of many of my favorite Rich Mullens songs,and why he seemed so mentally tortured. Prepare for tears in several places.
I've watched it 3 times already and each time pick up on something I missed.
If you were/are a fan of his music, it is a MUST SEE movie!

Wonderful Movie.

I was a fan of Rich's music until his death in the 90s. Never knew the struggles he faced. Film was good in that it told the story without the sugar coating of many Christian films. Was real & authentic. Watched it with my teenage sons who liked the film. While not appropriate for young children, was great for my teenage sons to see someone real about faith struggles and God's love.

Knew the music - Now heard the message

This was a darker portrayal of Rich Mullins than I previously encountered from various videos and books. However, it was inspiring to see someone who was so honest about the demons he faced and yet still found God's fathomless mercy in all things. I believe he's a modern day saint.

awesome movie

This movie was absolutely amazing! Even if you don't know who Rich Mullins is, this movie will move you beyond words. We all face struggles in our lives, and everyone will walk away from this film with hope no matter what they have or have had to battle during their life. God loves you just the way you are - just where you are. This film is a beautiful portrayal of God's love. The music is awesome and the cinematography is excellent. Kudos to the cast and crew for pulling off one of the best Christian films I've ever seen.

Too Amazing for Words

Very powerful movie about a man wrestling with his faith amidst loneliness and a sense that his father never approved of him. The fact that the man turned out to be Rich Mullins made it all the more interesting.

Real ragamuffin

This true story about the life of musician Rich Mullins was one of the best biographies I've ever seen. It helped the viewer to understand the dichotomy which was Rich's life. On the one hand he struggled with human temptations, addictions, and failures. But always he spoke of the love and grace of God through Jesus Christ. The movie did not glorify anything other than Jesus, which was what I believe Rich would have wanted.

Rich was one of the most talented musicians I have ever seen. He touched so many people through his music and talent. The movie clearly demonstrates this fact.

I watched the movie three times in a single weekend, and was happy to show it to friends and family. I highly recommend this movie. It will touch your heart and encourage you to know that God can use you even though you make mistakes.

Deeply Moving

I never knew much about Rich Mullins. I had only heard his music on Christian radio, so after watching his life story, I was truly blessed to get to know him in a very real way. He was such a transparent, genuine follower of Christ that wasn't uneasy about admitting his own personal struggles. Looking forward to meeting you in heaven Rich!!!!

Great life story

This is the story of Rich Mullins, a Ragamuffin Christian who encountered the full "reckless, raging fury that they call the Love of God." The movie may show too much of his dark side, but they do that to make a point. I never met Rich personally when he was alive, though I felt I knew him to some extent. God used Rich in my life in miraculous ways so many times. God used Rich in so many people's lives. This movie doesn't change how I feel about him at all. It does change a bit of my perception of him, but not how I feel about him. I wonder how much of an accurate portrayal of who he was this movie is. I don't think it's supposed to be that.
Michael Koch is not Rich Mullins - not by a long shot. I have advised people to keep a picture of Rich at hand while watching the movie so that they can visualize him doing and saying the things in the movie.
I very highly recommend this movie, but I advise you keep in mind that this is not a story of who Rich Mullins was, it is a story of his struggles as a Ragamuffin Christian and coming face to face with the Love of God.

This movie portrayed so well the heartbeat of Rich Mullins, the grace of Jesus Christ. He lived a life that was flawed and passionate and reckless, like his music, and this movie shows how Rich fell on the grace of God and embraced it. The movie is supported by Rich's own brother and many of his old friends so that adds a stamp of approval for me. As one who has been deeply touched by his music for years, I was so happy to finally see a story about his life. I highly recommend it. Yes it is gritty, yes parts are dark, but that adds a touch of realism to the movie that rings true. Get this movie!
