    • A. yes. It will accept component (1), composite (1), or HDMI (4) input for a video game. If you have more than one system with the same kind of connection, you'll have to swap them out since there's only 1 component & 1 composite, but you can have 4 different HDMI devices plugged in at the same time. Hope this helps!

I got this TV for college and had it shipped site to store. When i got it there was a weird vertical blue line about 4 inches wide that went down the tv.. but only on really bright, white stuff. It was pretty annoying so I took it back and had to get another one shipped to the store! Which kind of took a while.. but i've now had the second one for a couple of weeks and its working great. The picture quality is great and there are many settings that make the picture very customizable. Great for the PS3 and netflix; the HD comes through crystal clear. We have it hooked up to external speaker so I can't really tell you how the built in speakers are.. but i'm sure they're average or above average. In conclusion: if you are looking for a cheap, medium size TV, with full HD, and you don't mind maybe sending the first one back, this is a great choice. Way cheaper than other comparable HDTVs and it looks great on and off. Would recommend this to a friend for sure.

Just a tip for some of you that have cable

Just a tip for some of you that have HD cable service, This helped me and a friend. My cable remote in the menue options has a place that will let me adjust the incoming resoloution on the incoming signal. As the little sign in the description says you have to have a high deff signal to get a high deff picture. My cable company did not tell me much when they set up my box about anything and i thought every thing was kind of automatic to picture quality, turns out it is'nt. I was playing around with the remote when in the menue if found out how to set my set top box to get a 1080i signal to my tv, and when i followed the provided guide i was shocked at the jump in picture quality.I know this might be obious to some of you viewers out there about setting it up for 1080 i manualy, but I did'nt know i had to to get the best picture, and i just thought some of you complaining about the pic quality might look out for that in your cable companies package and options..My tv quality went from fair, to great when i made the change manualy in my cables menue options.........Just a thought

Lack of dot-for-dot defeats the purpose of 1080p!

My parents were looking for a small tv at a good price for the den and I thought this would be a good option for them, so they bought it. However, as it turns out there's no way to disable the overscan on this TV. Any 1080p TV from the last several years has the option of a "dot-for-dot" mode that doesn't stretch the edges of a 1080p video past the edges of the screen, allowing each of the pixels of the video signal to match dot-for-dot (get it?) with the pixels of the TV, allowing a perfectly razor sharp image. Instead, the picture is extended past the edge of the screen there's a huge cut off around all the sides of the video (known as overscan) which basically means that your 1080p picture is being upconverted on your 1080p TV! I tried to connect a PC using the HDMI port and the taskbar was completely cut off!!! And, the text was garbled as well. Dot-for-dot is a basic, standard feature for all 1080p TVs and this RCA TV doesn't have it. I don't recommend it at all, unless you either: 1. aren't concerned about picture quality, or 2. won't use the HDMI ports for your PC, Laptop, or Bluray player.

This is my fifth LCD/Plasma. I bought a 42" seven years ago for $3800. This set has impressed so far. Great picture. Bought on price, 1080 capability, and the ability to rotate in the stand. I am impressed with the overall functions, connection capability on input and output. Finding a set that has rotation capability is limited. So that capabilty and price were the deciding factors in our purchase. A lot of sets now do not have audio out except for digital optical. This has both. A real plus if you need to connect to wireless speakers and a headphones at the same time at a reasonable price. Previously I have purchase both Philips, LG and Samsung. All our good sets depending on the model. Hopefully this set will provide a long satisfying experience but in case it does not, the extended warranty was so cheap, $28, I bought it as well. RCA is not well known in the high tech field today. So you have to question who is making it. But so far so good. We are more than happy with our purchase and have no complaints.
