There are lots of different rifle slings available but this one is a step above most of the inexpensive ones you'll find in Walmart's sporting goods dept. It's only available on line, so you have to wait a few days for delivery. But it's worth it. The sling swivels are first class and the sling will definitely keep your rifle from sliding off your shoulder when walking over rough ground. Adjustments are simple. I have 4 of them, so you know I'm happy with this product.

I have two of the Claw Rifle slings now. My first one I have used for three deer seasons on my rifle and it has held up well and done what it was supposed to do. I do a lot of walk and stalk hunting as well as some long trecks into the woods. The Claw keeps the rifle on your shoulder. I have purchased a second one as my brother is coming to hunt with me this year and I don't want him dropping the gun he will be borrowing; nor do I want to be without one on my gun. Great value for the money.

I can't get anything to open that will allow the pin to slide into the stud post on the rifle.
    by Butch 11/17/2012
    • The sling has a screw release. Loosen the screw and push to release the pin. Turn the end plate aside and slide the pin onto the stud mount. My sling ends were a little tight when I first attempted to attach the sling. I simply moved the hardware around. It loosened a bit to let me insert through the stud. Be sure to retighten after you insert into the sling post.

    • You have to unscrew that little thing on the claw as much as you can. Once it's unscrewed pull the claw part away from each other and turn it so it stays open. Hope this helped.

    • If you turn the screw, then pull out on the screw it will release the bar that opens the part to attach to the sling stud. Rotate the very top bar you will see how to attach the sling swivel to the stud mount.

    • You have to back off the screw to provide enough clearance to fasten the swivel to the stud. It's spring loaded so after you've backed off the screw you push on it to open the gap. Connect it to the stud and then retighten it.

    • turn the tiny knob, (try both directions), it should screw outward allowing you to push it open, then you just screw it back the oposite direction till it attaches securily. hope that helps.
