Me and my wife were cooking with this type of cookware in the oven, and while the food was cooking we heard something fell in the kitchin. We got up to see what happened and the cassarole dish broke in the oven and we have no idea this happen and we have used this dish several times before. We would love to hear back from you guys on what went wrong? Thanks

  • Was the item possibly badly scratched as by usage of a metal utensil under pressure or by having contacted metal ware in a sink? Or was a dish with freezer temperature contents placed in an oven? Or was the oven not already preheated when the dish was placed in it, or had the broiler element on? Such conditions can cause glass bakeware to break in an oven. I've only seen it happen once, when a glass measuring cup (of the older Pyrex) broke apart in a microwave. Well, actually twice, the second time when a roommate, whom I had warned not to put one of these dishes on a hot stove burner, did so anyhow.
