Rated 3 out of 5★ by Leszek Good, but needs better camera and it's not a mirro First thing I have to mention is that since this is meant to clip over your rear view mirror I totally assumed it would work as a mirror when turned off just like many OEM mirrors with integrated rear view cameras that I have seen. It does not. It renders your rear view mirror useless. As a result I mounted mine on my visor with some modifications. This is in a F350. Most cars will not have the visor to roof clearance for this but mine does. I paid only $68 for this. Well worth that price but I see it has gone up considerably. Still an ok price but not great any more. The next issue is the camera itself. Very poor quality with bad range. I purchased the Xovision rear view camera for $24 and installed it with this monitor. I am now very happy. Here is all the data which I also posted on the Xovision review page. The rest of this post is for the xovision used with this Pyle camera monitor system. I intend to mount the Pyle camera that I removed onto the cab of my F350 simply for hooking up my 5th wheel trailer. Since the monitor has two inputs I can switch ot over for that and it will certainly suffice for that purpose.Bought this camera and used it in conjuction with the Pyle 7" rear mirror (not really a mirror, just clips over it and then renders the mirror useless) backup camera system I bought from Walmart for $68. I was not too pleased with the Pyle system. The replacement of the camera with this Xovision worked beyond my expectation for the $24 I paid for it. The resolution is far supperior and it has the built in distance/guide lines in it. I have posted some photos comparing the two. You can see that the Xovision camera has a much wider range. May not seem like much in these photos, but it is significant. Please note that to make the comparison I had to mount the camera upside down to orient them the same so the guide lines are on top instead of the bottom just for my comparison. Note the wooden block and oil bottle are the farthest bottom left corner of the Pyle Camera. The blue tape rolls are the farthest bottom left corner of the Xovision. At this camera angle and height, you can still see them just 16" away form the camera. Hard to tell from the photo, but the resolution is starkly better. I have the Xovision camera taped directly onto the Pyle camera for this comparison. It is now mounted into my tailgate. Nice clean installation. 03/01/2011
Rated 3 out of 5★ by jj2walmart ok for the money The monitor is great but the camera did not meet expectations. The camera is supposed to change to night vision (black and white) but doesn't. The warranty company wants me to ship it and provide $15 return postage. I can buy another camera for $25 so why bother. It does suffice for a rear view mirror since my work van has no rear windows. 03/17/2011
Rated 1 out of 5★ by GaGrandmaWR We thought this would be a good alternative to the rear view mirror on our SUV with a Family Entertainment System in it. Wrong answer to the problem. The glare at night was so bad from other headlights we couldn't allow the grandkids to watch the DVD player as we couldn't see out of our rear view mirror. This made for a very long trip with kids in the vehicle. We'll have to try something else. 11/07/2011
