Decent cable Audio fidelity has made great improvements lately, negating some of the difference found between expensive and cheap cables.When audio was sent as an analog signal over electrical cables, the higher priced cables minimized interferance, and the expense could be justified. When we switched to digital over electrical cables (SPDIF, HDMI) the gains in quality from a expensive cable all but disappeared. Digital signals are sent in 1's and 0's, on and off, so as long as the signal reachs the component, it sounds the same.Digital over fiber optic is slightly different. Fiber optic can handle MUCH MORE information, but the medium can lose fidelity if transferred over a cheap (read poorly made) cable. This is why I spend a little extra on the higher end optical SPDIF cable, and I recommend you do the same.I, however, am NOT pleased that it took Walmart so long to get this cable to my local store. They only stocked the cheapest optical cable, so I was forced to order online and wait. 12/14/2011
