- The bed of the cutter is approximately 4 inches long. The average potato will require modification to fit in the bed. The handle travel is about 45 degrees from the top position to the body of the cutter. The cutting action is smooth easy.by Ubsonoz3/5/2015Was this answer helpful? (1) (0)Was this answer helpful?
- I do not have mine in front of me, but anything larger than a small potato has to be cut into chunks before you can slice it. I was pleased with the handle, the travel, and the force needed.by BachelorCook6/8/2014Was this answer helpful? (0) (0)Was this answer helpful?
- I have not measured, but I have had to cut the ends off of all the potatoes I have sliced. I tried to buy small potatoes hoping they would fit more easily. Flat narrow ones have fit after cutting the ends off, but round ones have had to be cut in half.by IluvEor6/9/2014Was this answer helpful? (0) (1)Was this answer helpful?
- the bed is 6" long and about 2.5" square. If you purchase a bag of small potatoes (usually a 10lb. bag) most of the potatoes in that type of bag will fit diameter-wise, but you will probably have to cut the length in order for them to fit. The big giant russets one would buy for baking will definitely not fit, so just look for small to medium potatoes and you'll be fine.by sharkpuck1/18/2015Was this answer helpful?
