Practically Perfect in Every Way This product is a true delight! As soon as it arrived, I gave it a quick wash, soaked some jasmine rice, and steamed like never before. Sticky Rice, folks... just like you dream about.We had *wilted* spinach and some sugar snap peas, using the cooker as well. There are many uses for this great steamer, and the accessories are high-quality.Even better, you use it in the microwave (FAST), and the entire steamer is top-rack-dishwasher-safe. There's no cord, and it takes up no counter space.I ask myself, "Why didn't you buy one of these years ago?" I get the feeling that I will use it habitually. 03/18/2010
Response to Michelle on spillage while cooking To those of you who have an issue with the rice water boiling over during cooking...it's very important that you RINSE THE RICE COMPLETELY before adding your cooking water.This was an issue for me at first, but as soon as I started rinsing better, it NEVER boils over any more.All you need to do is ...1. Measure your rice into the cooker2. Take to sink and fill with clean water and continue to 'wash it' with your hands until clear. The rice will stay in the bottom pretty well and you can occasionally tip the cooker to empty the 'dirty' water until it runs clear.3. After water runs clear, just drain and add 'measured' water, put in your spices or whatever, pop on the lid and stick it in the nuker for 15 minutes or so.4. Enjoy! You'll be amazed at the difference in the results. And not only did you use just the one thing to prepare it, but you can store the leftovers in the fridge for later. 04/18/2011
Great rice cooker This rice cooker is truely convenient, as by using microwave, functional, as the yummy sticky rice renders out, and valuable, as the price shows. It completely statisfies my use as a college student worrying about how to decently and economically cook meals.Just a tip: usually I would add more water to the rice than the instruction manual suggests to make sticky rice. You can try also if you prefer the sticky one. 06/06/2010
