Rated 4 out of 5 by Splagadoosh Good Sharperner I bought this sharpener over the smaller one because of the added feature. This sharpener has a tree step sharpening process. A course wheel, a medium wheel, and a fine wheel. Most knives can be sharpened with the #2, and #3 wheels and they only recommend using the #1 wheel (course) for very dull blades. There is also an adjustment switch labeled "blade selector" that adjusts the orange blade guard on steps #2 & #3. The blade guard narrows the blade opening for thicker blades and opens for thinner blades. The blade guard limits the knife's exposure to the grinding wheel for thicker blades. I have found that narrowing the blade guard (thick) prevents the sharpening of the blade closest to the handle. Maybe I don't have thick enough blades that warrant using the "thick" setting, but setting the sharpener to "thin" will sharpen all my blades perfectly.The only thing missing on this sharpener is a "serrated blade" sharpener. Otherwise, this is a good sharpener. 03/28/2011

Could not wait to return the Smith's and get the Presto. Could not be truely happier than with the results I have gotten from the Presto 08810. 02/11/2012
