This is a great item. I currently have a collection of about 600 compact discs and this wall storage shelf is very ideal.

Not to mention how good it looks and out of the way it is mounted on the wall. It really adds modernism to my home.

Once I got the extra screws and got it up Off of the floor it's beautiful! Quite heavy (for me) but a beautifully dominant piece to my room. Holds everything I need it to and the shelves are easy to move around. It does smell kinda weird :) ..but hopefully the 'new shelf smell' will go away soon.

Perfect if you have a little one. My little girl loves pulling every DVD off our racks and spreding through the house and this is just out of reach for her little fingers. Great addition to baby proofing any home

Good DVD shelf

We just moved to a smaller home and had no space for a standing CD rack. We have a lot of CD's and home recorded movies in cd cases. We actually fit 990 of the slim cd cases in our wall storage shelf. However, because of the vertical trim pieces on the front, there is actually space for 90 more slim CD cases...you just won't see them or be able to access them. To keep ours from being lost, we filled the spaces on each side of the shelf with a piece of cardboard and a regular-size, empty CD case.
The shelf unit was easy to install and mount on the wall and it looks great! We ordered the black. Very glad to find this online at Walmart.

Just waht we needed!

My son-in-law put this together for me. He said everything was there and he had no problems. Because I am short, and I have difficulty getting down to my lower cabinets, I needed something at eye level. This unit is absolutely perfect and as you can see, it looks good.

The instructions were not clear. 
The wall system sucks, it fell on my head off the wall while mounting it. I had to put reinforcing brackets. It's very heavy and sturdy. I added lights for my collection. Looks awesome.

Good final product, poor instructions, really back

Puts together easy and feels sturdy once fully assembled. Only con I had was that it holds 3.5 dvds vertically meaning that if you put the shelves right above the cases you have three rows of dvd's and then space where a row of cd's would fit, would be nicer if it held 4 rows of dvds stacked vertically, instead we have 3 rows of dvds and my wife put candles in the top sections because we don't have any cd's in cases to display that would fit in the 4 inch shelf openings at the top. If we run out of room we could place some dvds horizontally in the top spaces.

Looks very nice for the price

It is very durable and looks much nicer in person. However, movies don't fit like they show in the photo. If you displayed them as pictured, you wouldn't be able to get anything out because of the frame. I bought this product because the amount of dvd's it would hold, but I couldn't even put up all the shelves. It is a good buy and looks great, but keep in mind that it isn't going to fit as much as described. Also, directions were confusing. Took a couple of hours to assemble.

Nice, but not as pictured

This kit doesn't have a single piece of solid wood in it. It's particle board and MDF. The veneers came with reasonable quality except for the front. That veneer is actually tape. Wow. TAPE! that's a first for me. The beautiful Cherry wood is tape covered MDF. Al that whining aside, It's stunning how good it looks. It's amazing what they can create with sawdust these days.

I used wood glue with the install - the screws into plywood were sketchy.

The mounting setup on the wall works really well. Countersink the screws into the studs - they have to be flush.

Seeing the DVDs at eye level on the wall is very convenient.

You can't expect solid wood at this price...

Main pieces have damaged corners, I was able to hide most or fill in with a sharpie but still disappointing when you get what appears to be an otherwise nice piece, there needs to be a little better packaging, and of course Walmart is no help. I don't want to return such a large item, new pieces would help though.
