Customer Product Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5★ by 22reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5★ by PIECE OF GARBAGE Bought one ran for 4 or 5 cuttings, while starting to crank it the cord came out. Piece on the inside was bent. Had it fixed and tore up again. Had it for 1 year still wasn't able to be fixed so it would run right. Do not buy this spend your money on something better. 07/31/2013
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Don't buy this. It ran for about 15 minutes and died, never to run again. Got my money back. 03/25/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Customer support After reading all the comments from the users, I had fun with my toy. Now, I dont have any because I want to buy the edge trimmer to shape my cedars and cannot find any service point. The web site is inoperative or the info is outdated or missing. Impossible to get the accessory. Desapointing...Now that I posted, I have to describe me the same as a cruising session... 08/17/2013
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Poulan P2500 Trimmer I have not had any satisfaction since day one.Very difficult to start and when it finally does start if has to be on full choke all the time.I would not recommend to anyone.. 07/10/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Adjust the Carb, It'll Run Great Like other reviewers here, the trimmer I bought was a bit hard to start after a few uses and it wouldn't idle at all. The factory tunes these carbs too lean. (Might be EPA nonsense.) At any rate, buy or borrow the splined adjustment tool and open up the low speed fuel screw about a 1/4 turn. The low speed mixture screw is closer to the engine. The Walbro carburetor usually has an "L" stamped or cast near the low speed mixture screw. Try starting it again and while keeping it running by blipping the throttle, SLOWLY adjust the low speed screw out while you hear the speed increase. Ideally, you should be able to get it to idle without touching the throttle. Continue to slowly turn out the low speed screw until you hear the speed peak, then start to drop. Then turn it in just a bit. Blip the throttle, if it bogs, it's probably a little too lean. Open it up a bit. Repeat adjustments unti it accelerates smoothly. Then with the throttle wide-open, SLOWLY adjust the high speed mixture screw for maximum RPM. Re-check the idle and off-idle mixture. This has been a problem for every two stroke equipment I have purchased from every manufacturer. 07/13/2013
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Poulan Trimmer SN 11108N502753-1 I found the trimmer very hard to start and it would not keep running especially at an idle. Once it stalled it was almost impossible to start again. I am very disappointed because the previous Poulan trimmer I owned ran well and lasted for many years. 03/09/2012
Rated 3 out of 5★ by trimmer this trimmer that I purchest is hard to start and when it starts you have to keep the choke on half choke, and the string breaks all the time at the spool then you have to take it off to get the string in the holes again very fustrating, I am sorry that I purchest it as I don't like it at all i would like to send it back but I have no box. thank you 09/20/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by P2500: Simple lessons for sure spring start up. After my first uneventful season, I could not get the P2500 to start the following spring (Canada-cold), even though I had followed instructions to a tee for end of season shut down. The primer bulb was stiff and would not return to its relaxed position. Here is what I found.1. 87 octane can contain up to 10% alcohol which has a great affinity for water.2. Over the winter the alcohol evaporated leaving the water behind, and in the carburetor area the gas also evaporated leaving the oil behind.3. The oil and water combined, making a sludge which made the primer reed valve assembly stick and prevented the bulb from returning.4. I assumed the alcohol-water issue would also apply to the fuel tank, in-tank filter, fuel lines, as well as to the the stored gas tank.Solution:-1. Put 2 tsp. of wood alcohol or gas line deicer into the fuel tank, fill it 1/4 full with gas/oil mixture and shake well. This takes care of the water-oil residue clogging of the in-tank filter and the fuel lines.2. Loosen the two primer bulb retainer ring screws just enough to allow separating of the elements of the primer-upper carburetor assembly with a knife edge or razor blade; and with the nozzle attached, give short squirts of WD-40 into the spaces between the elements ( the WD stands for water dispersing). This takes care of the water- oil gum in the primer/reed valve/ carburetor area.3. Re-tighten the primer retainer ring screws, give the machine a good shaking, and prime. You should now find that the primer bulb re-inflates normally and the engine can be started following the standard procedure, although in really cold conditions a few more priming shots and a more extended half-choke warm up may be needed. Finally, to make up for the alcohol loss in the stored gas tank, add 2 tbsp. of wood alcohol or gas line deicer per gal. and shake well.A great little machine; cuts frozen weeds and tall grass even better, and the exhaust make a great hand-warmer.N.B.THIS PROCEDURE HAS BEEN PROVEN EQUALLY EFFECTIVE ON SEVERAL OTHER LAWN TOOLS WHICH USE THE POULAN 25 cc. TWO STROKE ENGINE TOO.SINCE 10% ETHANOL IN 87 OCTANE FUEL IS NOW COMMONPLACE, POULAN MIGHT CONSIDER REVIEWING THIS MATERIAL AND INCORPORATING IT INTO THEIR F.A.Q. SECTION, POSSIBLY IN THEIR INSTRUCTION BULLETINS TOO.IT AVOIDS FRAYED TEMPERS, UNWARRANTED BAD REVIEWS, UNNECESSARY PART REPLACEMENTS AND WARRANTY RETURNS. 06/01/2012
