  • Players become a Pokemon Trainer, traveling from town to town across the Johto region on an adventure to catch, train and battle Pokemon.
  • Players can take their favorite Pokemon with them wherever they go using the new Pokewalker accessory. Wirelessly transfer a Pokemon to the Pokewalker and walk them through virtual routes as the player walks around in real life. By walking, players earn Watts that can be used to encounter and catch wild Pokemon or search for hidden items. The Pokemon in the Pokewalker will gain experience points as the player walks, and can even go up one level when they are transferred back into the game. Players also can wirelessly connect two Pokewalkers to get special gifts.
  • For the first time, any Pokemon can follow players on their journey outside of the Poke Ball. Your favorite Pokemon can always be at your side!
  • Players with a wireless broadband connection can interact with their friends who have either the Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver Version game to trade or battle Pokemon via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. Players can also battle and trade with others via a local wireless connection.
  • An internal clock keeps track of the time of day and the day of the week. Some special events will only happen on certain days or at certain times of day.

I used to play the original Silver to death. I had over 200 or 300 hours of play on it, beat the Elite Four over 150 times, and had over 200 Pokemon caught. Unfortunately, the battery in the cartridge that saves the Game Boy save died, so I lose all of my progress. Decided to buy this on a whim and it is great so far. Right now I have all 8 badges and am training for the Elite Four. I can't wait to visit Kanto again! The Silver/Gold/Crystal series was the best in my opinion and the game really does is justice by keeping to the original story and map and by adding little things that add to the game immensely. Just a fun game to play and bring back the joy I had when I was younger.

Thank you Nintendo. I have played Pokemon games my whole life, and every game has far surpassed the game before, and this game is no exception. There are a lot of improvement over Diamond/Pearl, some of them being: a much easier to use menu system, the ability to get Ditto early in the game (essential for breeding), and the reintroduction of the safari zone. There is a lot of stuff to do in this game, from getting all the gym badges (16!) and catching a plethora of different pokemon in the safari zone, to dominating the Pokathlon and battling with your friends. I consider myself a power player, so I, with little hesitation, bought the official Pokemon Kanto Guide & National Pokedex for $19.96 at my local Walmart store. This has been an invaluable resource for me and my friends, containing complete move lists, including egg moves and move tutors, item guides, and battle frontier strategies. Hint! Don't be afraid of breeding your pokemon, for you can get some powerful move sets that way. In all, this game has surpassed any and all of my expectations.

There are some differences between the games. Example: Kyogre, Arcanine and Primeape are only in heart gold. If you want Ninetails, Groudon and Persian, go for soul silver Overall, these are going to be great! I cannot wait!

SoulSilver is my favorite pokemon game. I never had the old ones when I was little, so to me, HG and SS are completely new games with pokemon I never got to play with! The pokewalker is fun to use, and gives me a reason to go walking now instead of just sitting at home. The service was fast and reliable and I got my product on time. I would recommend this game to anybody who likes pokemon. :)

I can't say anything but WOW! We bought this for our son and he LOVES this game! I was SHOCKED when he came to me and asked to get on the treadmill (which is very unusual)!!! I asked why and he showed me the Pokewalker and explained! Absolute BRILLIANT IDEA NINTENDO!! I would love to see more games that require exercise! I would love to hug the person that had this idea! Truly amazing and I highly recommend this game!

  • A. Yes, the Pokewalker does require batteries but getting into the battery compartment is a sinch since there are a few screws that allow easy access. The Pokewalker will let you know when it needs new batteries by having a battery symbol appear in the window where the Pokemon appears. Check in the manual the game came with to see what size batteries or in the Pokewalker manual section.

  • A. this version does not come with the figurine. if you look on the walmart site you will find soulsilver/heartgold that comes with the game, pokewalker, figurine and pokewalker jacket for the same price. it is sold out. the same thing happened with platinum. i ordered platinum from gamestop and at release it only came with a figurine, whereas walmart's version came with figurine, game, and case. though it is sold out on the internet, if you wait until the date of release and go to walmart, i am sure you can purcase heartgold/soulsilver with the game, figurine, pokewalker and pokewalker jacket. i did this with platinum and plan to do so with soulsilver. if you order it off the internet, you have to wait a minimum of five days anyway...

  • A. The pokewalker allows you to transfer one pokemon from your PC box into it. There, you can walk around to collect Watts. The Watts let you use the dowsing rod to find various items that you can put back into your SoulSilver game. You can also use Watts to find pokemon in the route you chose to walk on. The main point is to collect enough Watts to unlock more routes to take your selected pokemon on, and to obtain more items and pokemon, without touching your DS. I hope that made sense and will help you. ^_^

  • A. The Pokewalker is a Pokemon-styled pedometer that allows you to trasfer a Pokemon from your SoulSilver game to gain experience and catch pokemon. What is does is that every step you take, your Pokemon gains experience for the amount of steps you've taken. Plus, along with that, you can walk around in Pokewalker courses to catch some rare Pokemon and items! Basically, if you don't want to have your DS out with you, bring the Pokewalker! Experience AND exercise!

  • A. The pokewalker is a pedometer, which has an infrared port, as well as the game has an IR port, which you transfer a pokemon to it, and you walk. every like 12 steps or something gets you 1 exp and 1 watt. Watts allow you to use a pokeradar to get exclusive pokemon or items.

  • A. check the site for details, but generally said, u put a pokemon on it and hook it to u. walk with it and for every step, u get 1 exp and for every 2-5, u get a "watt". there are many courses that u can battle, catch and find items in. they can even wirelessly connect to others. yet again see site for more details.

  • A. Ok all the pokewalker does is allows you to train one pokemon while you walk around all day. You can also catch wild pokemon on it somehow, not quite sure of all the details, but I know that you train the pokemon by how much you walk with it everday.
