The Playtex Original Nurser Newborn Gift Set has been clinically proven to mimic breastfeeding. The bottles in this set are designed with the Drop-Ins system, which simulates the natural feeding rhythm of sucking, swallowing, and breathing. The unique liner collapses as the baby drinks and thus keeps air from mixing with the milk. This process prevents air from getting into the baby's tummy and reduces gas and colic significantly. The Naturalatch nipple promotes latching like the breast and controls the flow of liquid just as in breastfeeding. These baby feeding bottles are BPA free and are safe for use. This Playtex Original Nurser Newborn Gift Set is an ideal gift that a new mom will appreciate as it includes a variety of nipples, nurser bottles of different capacities, liners, self-storing leak-proof caps, retainer rings, and an instruction booklet.

I used these bottles with my firstborn 14 years ago. I really liked that my daughter took in less air $ was less gassy. So, with my second child I came back to them. I ordered this original package of bottles because the newer bottles that Playtex makes are wider and I prefer the slimmer style of the original nursers. However, I was disappointed at how flimsy the bottles were. The lids & the rings that hold the nipple down are also flimsy. I also purchased a nursing set by the Wal-mart brand called Parents Choice. I am much more satisfied with the Parents Choice Nursing set! The bottles, rings, and lids are all more durable, the slow nipples flow slower than the Playtex ones, and they cost less. They come in pleasant, neutral colors, whereas the Playtex set has a purple bottle in it that I will not be using since I have a son. I would recommend the preformed bottle liners to the old liners due to their ease of use. It's much quicker to make a bottle. I preferred the Playtex brand of preformed bottle liners to the Wal-mart brand because they were a little less rigid.

After almost 9 months of searching for a bottle my daughter will take...we have happily settled on Playtex Original Nursers! My beautiful baby girl has a horrible oral aversion(underwent fundo surgery for GERD and has g-tube), and we have tried many bottles: Playtex Ventaire(standard nipple), Dr. Browns, Gerber Nuk, Avent, Momo, Soothie, and Evenflo. Then about a month ago one of her feeding therapists suggested we try Playtex Drop-ins...we have never looked back since!! Here are a few reasons we love them: 1) You will never see those bubbles come back into the bottle while the baby is drinking. The liners are made to collapse as baby drinks and keep air out. 2)They are SO EASY to clean and assemble. Buying the liners are hardest & most expensive part of using these bottles. 3) We have never experienced a single nipple collapse while using these bottles, that is AMAZING! 4) You can get both silicone or latex nipples for the Drop-in bottles. (we tried bothe and my baby prefers latex, they are softer and made it easier for her to get a good latch and flow rate). Here are some other things I have discovered about these bottles. Besides looks, there is a difference between the Original and Premium Nursers. The Original Nursers have 2 different sets of markings on the bottle: they have measurements for both standard 8 oz liners(every store brand liner I have found are this type), and also for the Playtex expandable 8-10 oz liners(Playtex is the only brand I have found to make these expandable liners.) The Premium Nursers have only one set of measurements on the bottle and require you to only use the actual Playtex drop-in inserts that are expandable. I tried using a store brand liner in the Premium Nurser, and the measurement is definately off if you don't use a Playtex liner!! So the Original Nursers definately help save some money because you can purchase store brand liners until your baby starts taking a full bottle...then the expandable Playtex liners are the way to go because it allows extra room for adding formula to an already full bottle of water!! And for those of you that are wondering...yes, I mix the formula right in the bottle and have had no leaks or problems yet!!! Every baby is different, but for us Playtex Drop-in bottles are simply priceless!!!!

We have tried several bottle/nipple combos with our first son and I have to say these work the BEST! We also mix the formula right in the lined bottle and it works great. Love he fact that baby isn't sucking down air and fussing near as much as he was with other bottles even the vent-air ones. There is far less cleanup with the disposable liners, warming the formula is much quicker, and he latches right on to the soft nipples and doesn't fuss about it one bit. This kit has pleanty of bottles to start out and comes with the nipples to change as baby gets ready for a more ample flow. I also love the fact that it comes with both the 4 and 8 oz. bottles. Just love it, gotta say.

I can't tell you how wonderful these bottles are! My son had to be switched to Similac Alimentum formula for milk protein allergy, so he always had gas. When I switched to these bottles...no more gas, it was a miracle. The liners are pricey, but the Parents Choice or Target brand liners work just as good as the Playtex liners. But for me...the price was worth my baby not suffering. No more bottle brushes, just use and toss the liner! This gift set is all you need since you dont have to wash the bottles after every feeding. I just boil my nipples, and rinse the rings. So easy, saves me a ton of time. Wonderful product!

I must say. I just came online to order this product since I used it with my son 2 years ago. It works great for a nursing mom on the go or stay home. I must comment on the lady who reviewed it bad and said the formula would spill. Just FYI formula is very heavy compared to breast milk. And that is what these drop in bottles are for. You put formula in the bottles that don't have drop in. I love these bottles.

I bought this product for my daughter so that while she was at work, baby could have her breast milk in a bottle. The variety of nipples, one is shaped like baby's pacifier, so she accepts that and will drink her milk. The traditional straight nipple she also accepts. When i had my daughter 26 years ago, i used the Playtex Nurser System and my daughter also liked these nipples. The plastic liners ensure that baby does not swallow any air and it is a comfortable way for her to be fed. It is wonderful that we have been able to continue using this product. It is so popular that none of the stores had it, we had to order it online. I highly recommend it. It is excellent! Thank you Playtex and Walmart for such a great product! With sincere love and affection .. anniesapple13 :)

I really love these bottles. I don’t have a dishwasher so being able to have a fresh, clean sterilized bottle every time is very comforting. I also really like that the lids store easily on the bottom so I always have them when I need them and don’t loose them. The liners can get expensive, but the Parent’s Choice fit perfectly. Also, you can always find them pretty cheap in thrift stores or on e-bay (especially the original bag-type liners). Plus the new bottles have ounce markers for both the drop-ins and the regular bag-type liners.

I used these many years ago when my children were babies, this was a gift for my neice. Nothing is worse than washing baby bottles, time consuming, the sterilizion process is just a pain. This way just slip in a bag, fill the formula, and feed the baby!

    • A. It is not sanitary to reuse the liners becuase you really can not clean them well enough. They aren't really that expensive anyway. Parents Choice brand works just as well and is almost half the price! We have been using them for a couple months and have only had a few leaks (or course it's always when Daddy fixed the bottle so you have to take that into consideration!)

    • A. You can use in a bottle warmer, but I would not recommend it. The milk does heat up quickly in a cup of hot water. Also, you can absolutely use this bottle if you are formula feeding. Just because you decide on formula does not mean your baby is not good enough for this bottle.
