The Playtex Diaper Disposal System helps you hygienically dispose your babys diapers effortlessly. Ergonomically designed, it can be operated using just one hand so you can grab the next diaper even as you are holding the baby. The Genie diaper disposal system can hold up to 30 diapers at a time and it delivers warm, fresh diapers on each use. It features the AIR-TITE mechanism that has a 5-layer refill, which locks in odor and microorganisms. Also, the odor-free diaper pail has been crafted in such a way that diapers do not touch the pail and become damp. The smelly diapers can be sealed well with the push-n-lock clamp unlike normal trash cans. Overall, the disposal system is remarkably simple to use and delivers a reliable performance. Not Just For Babies Bought this for my parents. They are both in their 90s, have Alzheimers, are incontinent of bowel and bladder, and wear disposible underwear. The Diaper Genie does keep the odor away, is very easy to use, has a small footprint, and is very easy to change out the bag system. The HHA loves to use this and is happy that I thought to buy it. Dont waste your money! This is honestly a waste of money! I got this at my baby shower, & now my son is 6 months old. We have use this for the whole 6 months, & let me tell you... it STINKS! EVERY time you go to put the diaper in the genie you have to shove it down these hard blockers, and when you push it threw, a big wiff of dirty diaper comes out and if you have a dirty diaper in there for about three days, it smells up the WHOLE ROOM! The refills are expensive and useless, you could just use a normal trash bag and it would do the same thing! If I knew what i knew now about this genie i would have used my sisters old genie, the one that ties! it is much better! so, if your looking for something that is worth your money and actually keeps the smell away, DONT BUY THIS THING!! 02/04/2011
Thumbs Down on Diaper Genie II I hated this product as I despised pushing hard down onto the plastic device to fit the diaper thru, the box says One handed use, its a lie, you need two hands to do it because its really hard to push the thing down. You have to mash the diaper into this plastic piece for it to open thus getting poo all over your hands. I promptly returned it after a week of use and bought the Diaper Genie II Elite. A much better purchase and worth the extra ten dollars. 02/09/2011
when you open the top to put the diaper in, theres a piece there that you need to push down to get the diaper in. that piece is so hard to push that the diaper smashes is your hand & opens by the time you get the diaper in. or you can push it away with your other hand but that defeats the whole purpose. im returning it- id rather a regular trash bin. 01/12/2011
