PHILIPS:Each winter my wife and I escape our harsh New England weather for three months onto Santa Maria Island on the West Coast of Florida. We drive down in our '08 Toyota Prius with limited space for extras. It would be nice to be able to transport our Bose iPod docking station, but there is no room in the car. After much research, I came upon the Philips Fidelio Docking speaker DS7550. What a find! The sound is excellent with the Philips and it also is used to charge my iPod in transit and at my final condo location. I highly recommend it. This is a great value when compared to other docking stations that have the capability for battery operation. This feature was important to me as I wanted to be able to play my iPod at lakeside where there were no electrical outlets. Very satisfied. Even used the unit for listening on the road rather than the radio or CD player in the vehicle. 10/09/2011

I use it on a regular basis and have still not had it run out of power. The sound is great and the ease of portability is awsome.
