I have had this TV for about 5 months now. I really like the convenience of able to connect to internet via NET TV. However, I am constantly checking for software upgrade to improve the user experience. The software upgrades do not really have all the features PHILIPS puts in the readme documentation. There had been 4 upgrades till about April and nothing from then onwards. Seems like PHILIPS has stopped work on software upgrades for this model. It is very difficult to enter search text in NETFLIX or YOU TUBE using the remote. I tried looking for a keyboard compatible with the TV, but seems like there isn't any as of now. Also, the user account favourite list in YOU TUBE is not yet available in the software. The Media connect has failed to impress me. Very unreliable!!! I keep losing my signal every now and then. The picture and sound quality is just acceptable, nothing exciting about it. The remote provided with the TV does not allow any other devices like DVD to be controlled.

Overall this TV is great, but I do have some issues that aren't deal breakers, but do affect. For example, I have not Netflix app. I go into settings and there is an option to deactivate Netflix, but I don't see the app anywhere. Two, the wireless internet is very slow, If I try to you stream YouTube they are constantly buffering, but if I connect it to the ethernet cable, it streams fine. Also the 120hz feature isn't working right as it blurs the image when moving fast, which it is supposed to get rid of that. So most of the time I deactivate that feature. ... Advice: For those how are having problems with the tv turning on and off perhaps getting someone to update the firmware would help most of the problems. One update just came about less than a month ago of me writing this review. Might works, so try it.

Right now.... I would not recommend this product Purchased the tv on 2/18/11. On 1/10/12 I started hearing a short squelching noise. The next day flashing white dots all over the screen, and now the screen will go out for a second like its trying to change sources or channels. The image comes back after a one second blackout. I called Philips and the guy was very helpful and told me to power down and if the problem persisted to email info and a copy of my receipt and someone would contact me in two days. That's crazy. Now the sound is just disappearing for a second. I sent the email and did not get an acknowledgement that they received it. I guess I'll wait a few days and see what happens. My review: great picture, easy to use, love the tv. But I wouldn't trust it and we will see how customer support helps.

Great Product Love the TV, great price, but one of the reasons I purchased this model was the ability to connect wirelessly from a PC. After researching online and following the guides I still cannot connect (by the way, I am in the IT industry so I do have an understanding of networks and WiFi technology). It seems a lot of people are having the same issues. Also streaming movies through the built in WiFi is very slow in loading (I guess you need a robust internet connection and not the middle tier offered by DSL or Cable providers). I gave up and will use it as a TV which I am very pleased with. I would recommend this product as a TV only and if you want the streaming and WiFi capabilities I would look elsewhere.

I had to return the unit. After 6 weeks of ownership, the TV would turn itself off at random times. Maybe 5 minutes after initialization or maybe 2 hours......but it would just turn itself off. Then concurrent with that problem, when the unit was manually turned back on, the screen would be all green, or all red, etc. Once again, turning it off, then on would correct the problem for a while. I returned it to Sam's Club, where I purchased a 55" Vizio LCD/3D in its place and have had absolutley no issues with it, the picture is a great deal more sharper and the colors just pop ! I wish I could have given a glowing review, but could not do that in this case.

Weak receiver makes wireless connectivity for movies unusable, which was my primary reason for purchase. Wireless receiver must be much weaker than a laptop or my phone. I can only get two bars on my TV despite the TV only being 30 feet from my router. My laptop works fine from a much greater distance. The picture on this model is fine. However, watching baseball is frustrating. TV does not refresh fast enough, so the ball is split into two images when there is a throw across the field. This is the only time I see this problem. I would not recommend this product unless you intend to wire it to your internet connection.

I've had this model for almost 3 years now. Since the begging the TV shuts-off and then turns back on several times. Sometimes the screen freezes and I have to manually shut it off. I call Philips as soon as this problem occurred and they informed me it was a cable t.v. issue. I had my cable company here for many, many hours on many different days. They tell me it's the t.v. Since the t.v. isn't returnable I'm stuck with a device that I don't like. Lastly, the internet network does not connect no matter what I do.

I Purchased TV in September 2011. SInceourPurchase we have dealt with an issue where TV is GHOSTING (Showing images of other TV stations in the background) We Thought it aproblem with Our CableTV Provideruntil they showed upwitht heir Own TV,and showed us, it was our 55" Phillips TV. We have since called Phillips Support team,and so far am OK with the process, They seem very helpful and to us PRODUCT SUPPRT IS 95% OF THE RATING, so we will see. I will post more as support contunues and our issue is resolved.

This is a very nice TV, nice design. The WiFi is what sold it for me but I couldn't get it to work until Comcast came out to help. No written manual included. I guess it's online only. There is a bit of a delay when changing channels or turning the TV on. It has a nice user friendly remote. There is a lot available in the Net TV feature, Pandora, Netflix, Facebook, You Tube and many more. It's easy to adjust the picture quality by using the remote. Overall, I would definitely recommend this TV.

I like my Phillips 55" TV. The picture quality is great the operation is simple enough for even me who is somewhat technically challenged. The only complaint I have is the sound. It is very tinny sounding and garbled on some cable channels. I am going to buy a sound bar an hope that will cure the problem. Kinda sad to spend that much money for a TV and then have to invest another couple of hundred to improve sound quality.
