Excellent Option For Den/Bedroom

Our Akai 27" LED Flat Screen was working just fine when the remote function stopped working. Thinking a universal remote would fix that problem and all is well. Unfortunately the problem was in the TV and not the remote. Instead of having it repaired I decided to buy a new set that also had wifi capabilities. After searching the web I found no 27" TV's with internet options but I did find the Phillips 32" LED that had what I was looking for. The only down side was it didn't have 1080p but had 720p. After comparing the difference between 1080p vs 720p I noticed very little difference in picture quality. The Phillips 32PFL4907/F7 could not perform any better from picture and sound quality, value and features, and most importantly the ease of using the remote to access all this TV has to offer. If you are in the market for a 32" LED TV with wifi don't overlook this TV. The Net TV options on this set has us thinking why are we paying for Direct TV when we can find most of what we are looking for on Netflix on line. Highly recommend!!!

Excellent value. I bought a Philips 32" TV w/o Wifi and was able to exchange the non Wifi TV for this one. I wish the remote control was quieter but I can learn to ignore the clicking sound when I press the buttons. Most people use remote controls for TVs but I do like the fact that the buttons on the TV are in plain sight. The sound quality is good-speakers are located behind the TV. The Pandora and Youtube apps work well. I have not used Facebook and Twitter yet. Wifi setup was easy. Hulu Plus is available on this TV but I am not a subscriber. Mediaconnect is great and easy to setup. Just be sure to check the specs on you computer. The playback of video can be affected by your PC performance and available network speed. Network speed Wireless connection 802.11.n (recommended) or 802.11g Number of neighbourhood Wi-Fi networks and their usage Distance of the PC and TV from your router Type of walls between the PC, TV and router Frequency band (2.4 GHz)

this is the first tv i have ever purchased with internet. i am mostly happy with the product. i assumed that it worked like a computer, that it would be able to go to any site. unfortunatly that isn't the case. only apps preprogramed into the tv wifi work. however the setup was simple. i didn't even try to set it up the internet without making a call to "jack" at the philips product helpline and he walked me thru it. i called to register it and it was only a short call wait before "chris" picked up. now it is completed. i asked if they made agreements with any other apps would i be able to have them downloaded into my tv. the answer is that for the first year that it would not be a problem. if i saw any other apps being advertised with this tv and i hadn't gotten them, just contact the company and it should be easily resloved. this is for my bedroom and is about 1/8 the width of the old one. it has great picture and sound. i am looking forward to many evening of netflix watching, with the sleep button activated so it will shut itself off, after i do.

Don't Buy This if You Want a Wi-Fi Enabled TV

I selected this TV over comparable 32" models because it has built in wi-fi. The additional price over a non-wi-fi comparable model looks like it's $75-$100. Television setup was relatively easy and the picture is excellent. Then came the wi-fi set up. It hasn't worked since I purchased it because the registration process to receive the necessary software via the Philips website only generates an error response. I contacted their Support Desk and their response was simply that the website was down, they are trying to fix it, but do have any estimate of when it will be operable. Not sure you would want to pay the premium for the Wi-Fi until you can verify that Philips can support it.

Great TV with Very Cool features!! Has one glitch

I picked up this TV at my local Wal-Mart after lots of comparison shopping for a 32" LED TV. What I really liked about this TV was the built in internet functions like Netflix and Pandora. However, I was a little surprised that Hulu was not available. I also really love the Media Connect feature, it works surprisingly well. With Media Connect you can stream anything on your computer screen to this TV and you can do it without wires since this TV comes with a wireless adapter. I use it to watch shows I have missed from sights like ABC & CBS .com and I can also use it for Hulu. The only down side or glitch to Media Connect is you can’t stream store bought/copy protected DVD's to this TV. In fact you can’t stream anything if you have a copy protected DVD in your computer, even if you’re not playing the DVD. So if you’re going to play DVD's you will need a standalone DVD player which likely will also stream Netflix and Pandora plus others, making the built in streaming functions redundant. This TV also uses DLNA so I can use it to get music and pictures off of my computers on my home network, it does not show the art work or thumbnails and is a little slow, but it is a feature some people may find useful. I also like the remote layout, I wish it was a multifunction so I could control my satellite box. I really like the look of the on screen displays, like the volume is in the upper left corner and is easy to see plus closed caption turns on when you mute the TV. I did have to call tech support for the firmware upgrade and they answered on the second ring!! And lastly the picture quality is really nice, in the store it looked like some other TV's may have a better picture, but when I got it home the picture quality was very impressive! The sound is ok, I wish the speakers would face forward and not down and have ports out the back, its louder behind this TV than in front of it, but the sound is more than adequate for our use of it in the bedroom. I also must have got this on sale since I did pay less in my Wal-Mart store.
