Yes, it will work very well. The stabilizing scrim binder makes this possible. It also helps it hold up during washing, which will be important.

Yes it would be just fine for a baby quilt that is going to be tied together. The reason is because this batting has scrim in it so it will last as long as the quilt.

It is an average loft. I purchased this to go on each side of insulbright inside my potholders. If you are looking for thick loft I would go with warm and plush or double up on this batting. I purchased because of the great pricing.

Hi JBeewax,

At Pellon we recommend you stick with Wrap-N-Zap. It's recommended because it's fully 100% cotton, so it will work in the microwave best. Our cotton battings that we supply to Wal-Mart have what is called a "scrim", which is a very fine stabilizing binder (picture a cobweb that's been needled into the batting). It gives more stability which the machine quilters especially love, and the quilting can be further apart. However, scrim is a synthetic (olefin). Even though there is only a small amount, it's not considered safe for use in microwave. You can still use for potholders, but only if they don't go into the microwave.
It's a good idea to make sure the fabrics you use are also all cotton (with no metallic), and even use cotton thread. They are able to stand up to use in the microwave.

I have not used this in potholders as yet but do plan on trying it. I see no reason why it couldn't go in the microwave but have yet to try that. Will comment when I do

I didn't notice any smell or feel any unusual stiffness. With chemicals you sometimes get a different feel and I didn't get that. when it was wet also there was no odor coming from it.

It says "100 % natural cotton with scrim"...not sure what the scrim is attached with? You can look up Pellon's toll free number and call and ask them...that would be the best way.

I am new to quilting and I had been using a more expensive fill recommended by the youtube quilters. I made ten quilts in five weeks for Christmas. It felt thinner when I made the quilt sandwich. However, I love it the same after sewing on it. I cannot tell the difference between it and the expensive one. It saved me so much money. I like it on the bolt been cause it's easier to use. So excited to have this product. 
It is fused in a few places and I wondered if that would be problematic but it was fine. It's just like when I sew the expensive stuff together to make use of all the pieces.

Worth every penny

This batting is the best deal for the money. It holds together well, is easy to work with, and has a nice thickness for the quilts I make. You can also double the thickness if you want a slightly loftier quilt but its still easy to work with when doubled. You can get about 3 queen size quilts out of the bolt or about 5 smaller quilts. It all depends on the size of the quilts youre making, obviously. Highly recommend this batting.

This is an excellent product. It’s really great quality and will work well for my sewing projects. Plus the price point was very reasonable.

Great product/great price

Making a quilt is an expensive  project and very time consuming. You want to make sure that the materials you use are high quality and will last a lifetime. Thats why I choose Pellon natural cotton batting. Some batting needs to be quilt stitched every 3 to 6" but you can space your stitching up to 8 " with this batting if you choose. Sewing through the layers is a breeze with this batting- which isn't true for other brands and types of batting. Getting 9 yds at this price  allows me to create and gift more quilts to my  family and extended family. I can easily get 3 quilts from 9 yards or 2 nice sized quilts and several pet sized quilts that I donate to dog rescue organizations.

Can't beat this deal

Great weight for sewing by hand or machine any quilts! My grandmother prefers this to the stuff I was getting in stores that was fluffy and big. Just get it this way now and Walmart has the best price! Hard to show what it looked like before, but it's just as the picture shows.

A small bolt of batting, it doesn't take up a great deal of space in my sewing area and I can get several quilts out of a bolt.   Currently using this in quilt classes that I teach.  This is the pattern we are using and we are doing a "quilt as you go" method.

Good Product, just the right size

The label on the batting is 90% cotton and 10% Olefin.  If you are purchasing it for projects that will be in a microwave you should choose a product that is 100% cotton.
