This pan gets a lot of use in my home. It's huge, and we use it to cook a variety of things, not just saute. Holds a lot, cleans up easily, and has a cute robin egg-like pattern. Couldn't live without it!

I love this saute pan. It is large enough to use as a skillet or for many, many other uses. Tonight, I cooked Greek Shrimp in it. I purchased the entire cookware set because of its looks. Did not need a new set; the one I had was just fine. But I love the looks of these. After bringing them home, I found them to be great to use as well. I purchased this large saute' pan and the large soup pot separately. Have used the saute' pan more than I thought I would. They look great and cook great!

I got Paul's cookware for mother's day. This pan didn't come with it. So when I got the money to get it, I got it!!! I love this cookware. The food doesn't stick and the appearance is lovely as well. If you can get Paul's cookware it is well worth the money for it!!!

At first I thought I might be purchasing too large of a size of pan. This is the perfect size. It is a great addition the set. This has silicone handles which is really helpful. I have severe arthritis and believe it or not this is really helpful for me. I am very pleased with the product.

We first purchased the red 5.0 qt saute pan with lid about 3 to 4 years ago. With deep vertical sides it's great for skillet type meals preventing food from falling out of the pan while stirring. Handles are attached by heavy aluminum rivets. Over the 2 to 3 years we had it my daughter and I, about 5 to 7 times combined turned the burner on high to preheat the pan and walked away, returning to find the pan smoking. The nonstick surface has never lifted off and food cooked in it has never tasted burned with the nonstick surface working after 3 years just as it did new out of the box. I have also left food on the burner burning it to the bottom and the nonstick surface is definitely nonstick. With constant washing in the dishwasher it looks great and the exterior is only slightly faded. Somewhere around the 2 year mark the handle started to loosen, but not badly. My daughter now has that pan. About one year ago we purchased the blue 12 piece set and a blue 5.0 qt saute pan with lid. This new set has performed with the same results as described above. The entire set starts with a heavier than normal aluminum pan covered with a nonstick surface on the inside and a porcelain exterior. My youngest daughter just moved out and I will be purchasing her one of the 15 pc sets that includes the 5.0 qt saute pan with lid. This would make a great wedding gift, house warming gift, or gift of any kind for the person in need of pots and pans. The only reason I gave this a 4 in the value section is the price of this pan is cheaper if you purchase it in the 15pc set which includes this pan. Thank you Paula Deen for a superior product.

    • A. I am a representative from Paula Deen Cookware. This saute pan has a flat smooth bottom which is suitable for a ceramic stove. We also do recommend the use of medium to low heat when cooking with this cookware.

    • A. Yes it does, but the instructions included with this pan recommends not use them on the highest heat settings with glass top stoves, as the porcelain coating of the pan may fuse to the top of the stove.

One persons review said not to use wooden spoons. I can see not using metal, but wooden or plastic should certainly be ok, otherwise i won't bother buying this product. I'd like to know if this pan is as tough as it should be for the price.

    • A. Yes you can use wooden spoons in this pot. I use this pan almost everyday and the main utensils I use to stir food are bamboo spoons and they do not damage the pan.

    • A. I've had ours for about a year. Never used metal, only wood and plastic. The bottom of the pan is warped badly (even though we never use super-high heat) and the teflon peeled up to the point that we had to toss it. BUT, I do still like the stupid pan and am back to replace it with the same one. LOL
