Paula Deen Cutlery - 2-Piece Santoku Knife Set, Red 5 6
Loves them... I have Santoku knives similar to these...when my daughter was home visiting she really enjoyed using my knives. Decided to see if Walmart had anything similar to mine...saw the Paula Deen 2- piece Santoku Knife set and they looked perfect for my daughter. Upon receiving the knives my daughter called to tell me she 'loves her new Santoku knives'. Mission accomplished!!! 08/18/2010
Well made knives. Forged knives, excellent steel, well balanced with comfortable, ergonomic handles. The small knife is too small for my hands (knuckles hit the cutting board), so I only give that 3 stars for features. If they had made the blade on the small knife just 1/4 inch wider it would be fine. Both knives take a quick, sharp edge on the whetstone and the edge holds up well. The knives sing on the chef's steel, a sign of good metal. 03/01/2011
Doesn't cut I was shopping around for a good Santoku knife when I saw these, and they seemed like they would meet my needs. The biggest problem with my set is that the bolster prevents the knife blade from touching my cutting board on half the blade, so when I chopped some rhubarb all the pieces were joined together at the bottom and I had to pull them apart. It's possible that I just got a set that was ground wrong, but since the bolster goes all the way down to the cutting edge it seems like that part of the blade can't be sharpened. The blade is also too narrow so my knuckles hit the cutting board when I use either knife. 08/27/2011
Difficult to cut & sharpen. These knives are very attractive and the price is also great.
