I would like to get this, but the ingredients are different and in a different order. This one starts with Lactose and Gerber starts with Whey Protein Concentrate???? Has anyone tried this and had the same results as Gerber? I hate to try it and have a super fussy baby all over again. Thanks!

    • Our baby was given Gerber goodstart in the hospital so we originally chose to keep her on that at home. (I was unfortunately unable to breastfeed) After using up the free samples we had been given I was a little shocked at how expensive formula was so we started looking for an alternative. When we found the Parent's choice I was thrilled. We had also tried Similac, trying to figure out what our baby tolerated best - and she did NOT like Similac! she spit up every feeding. We tried the Parent's Choice Tender and had the same luck as with Gerber. Her tummy handles the whey proteins much better. We didn't have any issues with switching her, she didn't notice at all. Like the others said, every baby is different but we had no problems.

    • I had very little issue with switching over to this....however that doesn't mean your baby will tolerate it as well ....I'm on 3rd tub with very little issue......

    • Hi Jen! I have the same question as you!? But I also have a question for you--LOL....Was Gerber Good Start Gentle the only one you tried for formula for you LO? I have a 4 week old that is FUSSY on ALL the similacs, but when I tried Gerber Protection he was EXCELLENT. Just wondering if you had similiar experience--I was told by the doctor that "its all in my head" about him not being good on Similac but is on Gerber, so looking to for people with the same experiences. :D:D

    • Although all infant formulas provide complete nutrition for healthy infants and meet the strict FDA requirements, not all formulas are created equally. Both Gerber Good Start Gentle and store brand formula Tender are made with 100% whey protein that has been partially broken down (partially hydrolyzed), however Gerber Good Start Gentle uses a unique enzymatic process to hydrolyze the protein. This process of hydrolysis has been used in all of the Gerber Good Start milk based formulas and has shown to reduce the risk of atopic dermatitis (eczema) in infants. Gerber Good Start is the only formula the meets the requirements for a Qualified Health Claim from the FDA. If I were you, I would not switch my baby if they were doing well on Gerber Good Start (especially if your baby has had tummy issues). As a mom and a Registered Nurse, I would not recommend switching between brands of formula, even name brands. It's just not good for your baby. I hope this helps! Good Luck!!
