Review of Panasonic SC-BTT350 First, I have to say that this is a very nice unit. Although I did initially receive a unit that the DVD door was too high on one side and would not open, I returned it to Walmart and re-ordered, the second one is perfect. There are so many ways that you can adjust the sound to your comfort level, my problem was it works so well that I had too much sound and had to adjust it down. I also am going to add a digital optical cable for the audio from my cable box so I can get even better sound out of the system while watching TV. Of course I do not have a 3D TV but when I do get one I will be ready. The Blu-ray player is excellent and also the regular DVD's look good and my TV says they are being shown in 1080i which is all my 720p TV can provide. Read the manual well and it will be all you can ask for. The speaker wire could be a little longer for one of my speakers but that is an easy thing to extend. If you need a system like this, I highly recommend this one. 01/21/2011
AWESOME PRODUCT! AWESOME PRICE! I shopped around for hours online to try to find the best deal regarding a blu-ray, netflix streaming surround sound home theater system.I have to say that I only came across 2 cheaper ones- both refurbished from Best Buy- a LG and a Samsung- and both have gotten bad reviews all over the web from many different people regarding the same exact issues.So, I went with this one! It had great customer reviews, and for a 3D bluray- I got a steal! I still can't believe it!I only wanted the blu ray system to stream netflix, as I do not have a newer tv. I kept going back and forth between just a basic 1000watt surround sound or 1 that streams netflix.I also found that you can't get a brand new basic, simple 1000 watt surround sound for less that $160.So, I figured might as well pay the $70-$80 more to get the one that I want!That way I will be blu-ray and 3D ready when I eventually upgrade my tv!I have had surround sound for the past 10 years and is something I feel is vital for enjoying music and watching movies as they were intended to sound.This system sounds great, and is very easy to use and setup. I have not had any problems whatsoever streaming netflix, unlike other systems have had- mainly samsung. I have had it for about a week now. This system is an amazing deal! I still think it is a steal!I thought I would post this to help others, like myself, who are searching around for a GREAT surround sound system-3D, BluRay, VIERA Cast(Netflix), 1000Watt(anything less decreases optimum music quality in my opinion), for a GREAT price! Value Value Value Overall a good product at a price that can't be beat.First impressions: First off, if you're ordering this product from Walmart.com, read the fine print. It takes 4 days for processing the order meaning my valentines day present was late. My significant other was still speech less when she saw it.The box is small, very small. I thought they'd given me the wrong product but I guess that's technology these days, amazing product in a little box. Unpacking the equipment went smoothly, Panasonic was even kind enough to label the Styrofoam.The main unit is all black; a very sleek and modern feel to it. The speakers are all tiny (but powerful) including the subwoofer. The installation was very simple down to the speaker cables being color coordinated. The down side to this being that there are very few connections options on the unit. You have one HDMI 1.4 out. Granted it has an ARC but you'd have to make sure your equipment supports that (many don't yet) and you only get one port. Forget about hooking up a gaming system to this unit; it's not happening. You get composite video out, RCA audio in, and thank god it has Digital optical in as well. But that's it. This is strictly supposed to be a Blu-Ray player with speakers attached to a TV.As far as the extra features, I couldn't find a long enough Ethernet cable to attach the unit for the online programs. The iPod dock works flawlessly. the system guides itself through the iPod using it's own interface system but it's intuitive enough that I still haven't picked up the manual. The FM radio is good, the supplied antennae was sufficient enough to pick up all of my local stations but don't expect miracles; it's still FM radio.Now onto the audio. First off, I set this unit up in a small apartment. The speaker wire was just enough to encompass that small space, it you need longer wire, you will need to splice in your own standard speaker cable to do so. The sound is impressively loud for the size. Much more than I expected. I tested a few songs on the iPod interface, using the Aux input, and the movie The Dark Night. Wow is about all I can say. The sound needs only to go up to about 30 for any source and the unit can get up to 100 with virtually no distortion that I could detect. The bass is good quality and flat meaning it's not overbearing and it's sufficient for it's the rest of the system. Getting the system to up-mix 2 channel sound to 5.1 is difficult, but the surround track from The Dark Night was amazing. Everything sounded wonderfully full and the sounds came from where they were supposed to.As far as picture quality, I'll be honest, my TV is not the best to judge with. Any unit supporting 3D Blu-Ray content using 1080P over HDMI shouldn't come with any problems.All in all, as long as you have a simple setup (Read no component out and no HDMI in) and a small enough living room for the included speaker wires (or you're a Do It Yourself-er) you should enjoy this unit and more importantly it's price tag. 02/19/2011
good for the money I really like this product for the money. I got it on special for under $250 and its great for the price. I mainly bought it for the surround sound and the blu-ray was kind of a little perk. The surround sound works great, the speaker wires could have been a little longer but thirty ft should be ok for most applications. The blu-ray does take about a min. to load but when it loads its fine. The best sound comes when your watching something on the device (DVD or blu-ray), using the aux isn't the best sound, but I have not yet purchased a digital optical cable im still only using RCA inputs for the aux. and i think that might be my problem. Overall a good buy for the money. 01/28/2011
