    The Ultimate Multimedia Device

    Customer review by RUgrad06

    5.0 stars by RUgrad06

Personally when it comes to gaming I am an XBOX 360 guy, however I have been meaning to get into Blu-rays so, I decided to pick up the PS3. This console is definitely the lightest & smallest version of the PS3 since its debut in 2006. Also unlike its two older brothers (Fat & the Slim) this super slim model has abandoned the slot loading disc tray function instead you will manually have to open and close the cover to place & remove games/DVDs/Blu-rays. When it comes to the presentation on your television screen no one can dispute the fact that the appearance of such apps such as YouTube, Amazon Instant Video, & The WWENetwork appear much better on the PS3 than they do on the XBOX 360. In Conclusion: If you are looking for a device that is a top notch/top of the line multimedia device you can’t go wrong with this PS3. As an added bonus this console includes The Last Of Us which is considered by many as not only the greatest game of 2013, but the greatest video game of all time. The only gripes I have are that the device itself is quite the fingerprint magnet, there are still no HD cables included, & the price maybe a little high for those on a budget. Other than that it is a phenomenal multimedia device & a decent gaming system. Final Rating: 5 Stars = Excellent

bought this in store at my local walmart....always owned an xbox 360, but wanted to play the playstation only games I've missed out on over the years....played uncharted at a friends and liked the game so when I seen that the last of us was made by naughty dog I decided to give this bundle a are wonderful, and the storyline is for the system, I cant figure out why I never owned one sooner....plays Blu-ray movies, you can upload your own movie files, and it has a 500GB hardrive that seems like it will never get full.....I still consider myself an XBOX FANBOY, but this system is exactly what I thought it was gonna be....quite....runs great with no internet service for gaming.....and great exclusive titles

I'd been avoiding any newer consoles due to their crazy prices for games and the console itself, but when I saw how cheap Sony had finally made the PS3 I went for it. I bought the 500GB, great if you wanna download lots of free stuff or if you play lots of different games. If you are a casual gamer or are buying this for a child who might get tired of it I recommend the 12 or 250GB, don't be afraid to ask a store clerk, they know this junk can be confusing. If you've only ever used a ps2, man are you in for a surprise! I don't just play my games on it anymore, it's like owning a whole new computer too, I surf the web, check Facebook, listen to music, watch Netflix ( with subscription), Youtube and Crackle movies (free). It's also a DVD and Blu Ray player so basically all of the clutter on my entertainment system is gone. And when you register with the Playstation store (there will be an option when you turn on your system) you can download free games and watch free streaming tv shows, free demos, free avatars, free backgrounds for your PS3 (takes breath). Although they switch the free stuff out every once in a while so when you want something download it or next month it might not be there to pick up anymore. And I saw a free download to make the system backwards compatible (So you can play PS2 games on your PS3), but haven't tried it yet. The only thing that kind of bothered me was the download time if you want to get a really BIG game from the Playstation store, but you can usually download anything in the background while you do other stuff anyway. But if your just in it for the games rest assured that; Yes this console is a big step up in gameplay and graphics, many of the games are like playing in a movie. There are lots of games for the PS3 that are good for social online play with friends (Think Everquest and Call of Duty), but Sony definitely hasn't left out us solo players ( Metal Gear, God Of War). Overall this was the best console purchase i've ever made, MORE than worth the money.

    • Hey there JennaX5, the PS3 can't play playstation 1 games but when you register for free with the Playstation store there is a free download to make your PS3 play PS2 games ( try a search for "backwards compatible"). Now this does work but not for all PS2 games supposedly. If your worried about not being able to play a specific PS2 game, you could try a Google search to see if it will play with the PS3 Backwards Compatable program. But the good news is that the Playtation store is constantly uploading old PS1 and PS2 games for you to download from their store and they are usually cheap and sometimes free (usually runs from .99 to 4.99 for the oldies). And each month they change or add more
