Yes you can, but I don't believe that you can save PS2 on PS3 console.

My understanding is: NO. The first versions out DID, I am told. But Sony quickly discovered, they weren't selling many new PS3 games... And changed the BIOS. See my other answers for a more full explanation.

No, you can not play PS2 games on this system. The only models of PS3 that play PS2 games is 20, 60, and 80 GB models. These three models were discontinued some time ago.

40 GB and Slim PS3s will not play PS2 games via disc and any PS2 games they will play need to be purchased via the Playstation Store. Otherwise these models will only play PSOne and PS3 games rather they're disc based or from the Playstation Store.

I really like this console in that it is a great value for the price. I really like the slim in that it has a larger hard drive than the original and it is not as flimsy as the new ps3. I also really enjoy the diversity of console exclusives that I have tried. I am a transfer from a 360 gamer. I have found that I enjoy the ps3 more in that the controller feels more comfortable. I also enjoy the free access to the PSN network. I also enjoy the fact that I know have a blu ray player that also serves as a game console.

This playstation was a package deal. I received an additional controller and 2 games for a wonderful price! I shopped in multiple stores and on various websites only to find Walmart had the best deals around! I placed the order and it arrived in TWO days!!!! I was amazed how quickly it came. The price I paid for this PS3 (in a bundle) was amazing, very reasonable & I couldn't find a better deal online or in store. I got it as a Christmas gift for my daughter & she was very happy with all it's functions, Blu Ray/DVD player, CD disc player, WiFi, downloadable content, Netflix compatible. Anyone that knows PlayStation knows that its a entertainment system all by itself. Makes a great gift for anyone looking for a gift to give someone.

Great Bundle

It's been over 10yrs since I had a game console but since the hurricane ( my satellite went out) I thought wouldn't it be kool if I had a ps3, I'd be playing a game or watching a movie right now, so I went ahead & purchased one, 1st off I copped a great deal from Wal-Mart on a bundle, the console, dual shock control & game for $209!!! 2nd the visuals &game were awesome, lastly, watching blue ray was fantastic & a wonderful experience w/all the options @my control as the movie played, all in all I'm truly happy w/this console the game control is just as I remembered but definitely upgraded & the multiple usage I can get out of it is limitless!!!

Just Like The Old Days!!!

I had my heart on set on getting my boys the Xbox 360 for Christmas. I wanted them to be able to play games, but also a blue ray player and to be able to stream Netflix for all of us. I did some research and found that to be able to stream Netflix on the XBox I would need to subscribe monthly to XBox live and to Netflix. That is not the case with the Playstation, I only need to subscribe to Netflix. Getting the Playstation instead will save me at least $50 per month. That makes me one happy camper.

I bought this for my grandson, he loves it he shows me how to use and he is just 4. He has one at home also from Walmart his parents bought him. It keeps him occupied whenhe is out of school and he has lots of education programs he plays on it. The control is a great feature its easy to use because it has Shapes which small children understand. Recommend this because the price is fantastic as usual with all Walmart products. Get it and also check out their bundle packages they are worth every $$$$$$.

PS3 Great for Pre school age kids.

I ordered my PS3 and got a bundle deal. The price was good for what I received. The item arrived very fast and it was easy to hook up and get started. It plays blu ray and can hold a lot of music. The only thing that I don't like is having to charge the remotes with a wire because the remote chords are too short.

Very Convient Purchase

Purchased this for our older two boys as a birthday gift. They love, love it! Its not only a game system but much like a computer. They can check their facebook, watch netflix, and so much more.

Great game system

I love it. I use it everyday for hours. The only concern I have is that it makes loud noises frequently. Ive checked the discs after playing to make sure it wasnt scratching them and it wasnt. It was just making loud noises. And i havent had any problems loading saving or anything. It works perfectly just makes loud noises. Im not sure if its normal or if they all do it though.

Great Buy

You was buying this for bluray use. If your buying for gaming use the signals on all but 3 games that i know of is 720p. Some the game boxes for this unit says 1080p but they also have a screen image on the case as well. Which indicates the game is 720p and the tv is blowing it up to fill the screen. I have bought 5 ps3s and 200 games before i figured out the differences between the two. They are this is a movie console that does all 1080p in movies, and psstore games (files) are 1080p. Ive only came across 3 disk based games thats 1080p on this console. I also figured out that most games for this console have to be extra nerfed to. Lots of lockups and frame rate issues gaming on games that didnt get the extra nerf downs for ps3 units.
