I have now taken this tent out three times, all of which experienced "severe" weather. The first was just in our back yard with the kids when I first got it. I applied seam sealer to the tent and then we camped out back there and had it up for two days. On the last day, a storm came in and it rained for three days. I left the tent up instead of taking it down wet. No leaks after three days of almost straight rain. The next one was about a month later when we backpacked into a yurt. I put this tent on the sled because the yurt was not going to be big enough for our whole group. It dropped to 14 degrees F that night and it snowed pretty hard. In the morning you could not tell the tent from the yurt from all the snow. I was impressed with the load it was supporting. Then just this last weekend we took it to Idaho to the City of Rocks. At night, a wind storm came and by my best guestimate, and that of others in the group, we had gusts of about 60 mph. When the gusts came it would push the tent flat, to the point that the poles were smacking me in the face. The storm lasted about 4 or 5 hours. I was worried that the tent poles would either brake or suffer permanent damage. However in the morning after the winds died down, the tent was right up like nothing happened. We inspected the poles when we were taking it down and I was so glad to see that there was no damage. I will note that I did not use the stakes that came with the tent. I use longer, heavier metal stakes. The ones that come with the tent are both plastic and small almost wire ones that you see on smaller tents. So do get better stakes for this monster tent. Needless to say, I am impressed with this. Super roomy, I can stand up straight (I am 6'1"), and it has been tested and performed as well as any other high end, high priced tent.

I absolutely love this tent! We went camping at a local county park and it rained some everyday. The tub bottom is an excellent feature. One night we had torrential downpours for 6 hours and we got no water in the tent!! The rain was so loud that we had to yell to each other from our cots (which were side by side) in order to hear what the other was saying. Needless to say at the end of our vacation we were the only tent campers remaining out of 50 sites! The tub bottom kept the mud from touching the material of the tent so clean up was easy. The additional flap at the door also enabled us to remove our shoes before entering the tent which helped keep clean up to a minimum. I took some excellent photos of the mud from under our tent where you can actually make out my foot prints! I would recommend this tent to anyone. As a matter of fact, I already have! Now I can't wait to use the tent when it isn't raining so I can experience sleeping under the stars as when the rain fly is off it reminds me of a screen tent. Additionally, this tent is very quick and easy to put up and take down.

I bought this tent for my oldest daughters family so we could take the grandkids camping. They stayed in the tent for the first time last weekend. Even through the high winds and rain they stayed dry. Six kids aged 3 months to 10 years old and my daughter and her husband had plenty of room and had a great time. They are already planning the next camping trip. Their first attempt at camping was a nightmare so having the right equipment makes a difference

    • Fancy name for a small net you hook to the peak on the inside of the tent. Holds a flashlite and not much else...

    • Thats a fancy name, eh? Its simply a neding piece that clips on at the top where you can throw socks or your cell phone for the night. We don't use ours because we chose to put a combination fan/LED lamp there instead.

    • I believe the gear loft is a small net that hangs at the peak of the tent inside. It would hold small essentials that you would need often like a flashlight or car keys, etc. It is handy to be able to keep it safe but always know exactly where the items are kept.

    • It's a mesh "shelf" that hooks into the point at the top. We used it for a tap light. Lit up the entire tent

    • Gear loft is a net that hooks to the top of the tent to store things in. Great for lights or to store electrical items in, since it never touches the tent no worries about moister. Since you can see through the net, I like to put the iPad in it and watch movies in bed.

    • A gear loft mesh cloth or net that ties to loops suspended from the top of a tent. It serves as a small storage area for lightweight items. Thank you.
