For the price, you could easily treat these as throwaway as they are cheap but realize they are very poorly made and the reason so cheap. After the first time wearing them, in water of course, I noticed my heal starting to hurt and the inner foam on the heal pulled away from the plastic/rubber sole where the glue failed. I re-glued with gorilla glue and noticed the webbing was also completely pulled away from the sole however the straps were still in-tact. I have about 6 two hour long sessions with them so far and both heals have disintegrated, the mesh webbing is gone and they are on their last leg. Order a 1/2 to a full size smaller. My feet measure 11 1/12 but I typically have to wear a 12. These in a 12 are sloppy with them cinched as tight as I can get them and when they get wet I almost slide out. I would prefer an 11 in so my toes are near the end and my foot doesn't move 2 inches forward and backwards each time I walk.

I am a 48 year old male living in Jacksonville, Florida, and was shopping for a cheap pair of sandals for the beach. I bought a pair of Ozark Trail Men's Rockwell River Sandals because they looked decent, and were bargain priced (on sale, $10). However, after only 3 months of very average use, wearing 2 or 3 times a week, they were falling apart, the stitching was coming undone, and the uppers were separating from the lowers. With brand name sandals for less, paying even $10 for these was a horrible waste of money. Any sandals should last more than 3 months.

I have bought several pairs of Ozark Trails sandals in the past. Usually they last me about a year to a year and a half. My last good pair lasted me about 2 years. However....... I bought a pair and recently and they are falling apart after only 2 months. The bottoms have holes in them and are picking up rocks. Its a shame, I thought I had at least one product in my life that was dependable. I wont be buying Ozark Trails products at all in the future. Fortunately we live in a time where we can buy all sorts of things online and online stores are a dime a dozen. Time to go looking for a new pair of 'favorite' sandals... AVOID THIS BRAND AT ALL COSTS. Who knows maybe if they see their sales fall through the floor they will improve their quality back to where it was before...... If so then I would consider buying them again. If not ... I wont touch them.

I bought these sandals for my teenage son. He says they are comfortable and look good. That's saying a lot considering how affordable these sandals are. They may not be of the same quality as some of the better known name brands, but for a fraction of the cost, that is to be expected.

I live in New Orleans and I will ware out a pair of sandals every two years. I don't expect these to last that long so I brought two pairs because of the price. The styling fits my outdoor activities without my wondering if they will fall apart in the rain or if they look too cheap.

Terrible Sandals, Quick Walmart Resolution
5/29/2012

Customer review by Cire147

No stars, if possible, Zero. These sandals were terrible. I bought them end of April 2012 to hopefully wear them on the weekends thru Labor Day 2012, and it wasn't to be, they started falling apart after 1st wearing. They didn't make it to Memorial Day 2012. Foundation in both heels separated from sandal, caved-in, making feet sink to the rear outside of sandal, making them unwearable after 1st-defitinely 2nd wearing. Don't buy them at any price, the bargain is NO bargain. Informed Walmart Customer Service, and the credited a refund to my account immediately. My thanks to Walmart. I wouldn't buy anything labelled 'Ozark Trail' on a dare in the future, these sandals stunk that bad.

trying to find sandals that run in half sizes. Are they wide

  • A. Yes. Size 12 was perfect for my size 12D feet. I would not have wished for a mm more or less anywhere.

  • A. I found them to run smaller. Because they didn't come in half sizes I went up a half size and even that was close to being small but acceptable.

  • A. They do not run wide; I normally wear an A or B width and they snug up nicely but would fit a D width. I normally wear a size 13 shoe but ordered a 12 and am glad that I did.

  • A. Yes. I have worn them in the water about 6 times now. The glue failed after the first time wearing in the water. They dried within a day but make all kinds of squishy and squeaky sounds from the water logging. I re-glued them with gorilla glue but they continue to disintegrate with each dunking in water so I imagine they used water soluble glue. You might get more life out of them without getting wet but they easily can get wet and mostly dry in 24 hours (still a bit squeaky).
