    Easy Set Up

    Customer review by Juicebag

    5.0 stars by Juicebag

I bought this canopy to set up in front of my 10' X 20' tent. We put the picnic table under it on our family camping trip. I didn't realize that the canopy came in a long, square, canvas hard shell duffle bag. The bag had plenty of straps and roller wheels at one end making it easy for one person to roll it out to your location. You will need the rollers because the canopy is very heavy. We practiced setting this up in our backyard first. If you read the instructions and practice one time you will be a professional. Once you understand the principal, it is quick and easy to set up. The material the canopy is made of is heavy duty and vented on top. The sturdy metal frame is one piece that folds open easily. The only drawback is the little weak metal stakes they include to hold your canopy down. You have to realize that your canopy is a medium size parachute. The slightest wind will propel it into the next county. Buy the Walmart anchor kit and ropes and this will last you for many years.

    Great canopy, great price!

I was looking around for a canopy/shelter for our camping trips but didn't want to spend a lot of money, so when I spotted this one I decided to take a chance. I am so happy with my decision! My hubby and I set it up as soon as it was delivered to see how easy the setup would be, and we had it up in less than 5 minutes. You pick up the frame, stretch it out, and put the canopy over it. Simply attach it with the velcro at the 4 corners and lift it up to finish attaching the frame to the canopy. The canopy can be adjusted to 3 different heights which is a plus. I am planning on buying different stakes since the ones that come with it are cheap and bend easy. The day we had it set up it was breezy but this thing didn't budge. I also used waterproofing spray to make sure it don't leak on us. Take down was just as easy and we did get it back in the bag with no problem. Only negative I would think of is that is it heavy. The bag does come with wheels so that does help with moving it. If you need a canopy and don't want to spend a lot of money, I would recommend giving this one a shot.

    Even better than the FirstUp

    Customer review by Donnie26571

I bought one of these because I used FirstUps for years and someone told me these were the same. Well, they ARE NOT the same. They are better. The frame is basically the same metal and strength as the FirstUp, but there are now reenforcing plastic collars around the joints. This is a VERY good design. Also, the joints are no longer held together by rivets, but screws. Another brilliant upgrade. Now, if a part breaks, you can switch it out. So I'll be ordering or making extra parts to take with me so I don't have to worry about something breaking and being left without a canopy on a camping trip. Another thing I like is that it has pull rings instead of buttons for the initial breakdown releases. I also think the canopy is a little heavier and more plasticky instead of canvas. I think it will be more waterproof (the one bad thing about the FirstUps). The only thing I would have liked to see improved is the buttons for extending the legs. This is what failed on my first gazebo. They start getting warped and become hard to push in to retract the legs. Otherwise, I'm buying more of these. Can't have too many!

Is it possible without bending or breaking the legs if you were to set 2 legs at the lowest setting and the other 2 at the highest setting. This way if the sun was in your eyes you could lower one side.

    • A. Yes, within limits. The legs adjust with a spring loaded ball that goes in a hole so they move up and down is several positions.

    • A. yes! I do it all the time at the beach putting the side into the wind lower to help block the wind and stop it from becoming a parachute.

    • A. Yes, you can set the legs at different levels. I'm not sure about the highest to lowest, but you can definitely angle the canopy from front to back so the sun stays out of your eyes.

    • A. Yes. We just purchased the sun wall separately so we would have to set the legs that way.

    • A. Dear Rod, Yes, this is possible. Each leg acts individually, so you could set two at one height and two at another. Please just pay attention to any wind, as the canopy may catch more of it this way. Thank you, Customer Service
