  • A. The stakes we got with the Ozark Trail canopy were short and smallish, and wouldn't stay anchored to our lawn. So, we got our sturdier tend spikes to anchor down the legs.

  • A. Yes It come with four metal pins to stake it down. If you lose any, they are pretty standard to buy in any camping section.

  • A. Yes but they are the small tent stakes that come with most tents. I recommend buying the big nail type stakes. Walmart sells them for about $2.50 for a set of 4. they work great.

  • A. Yes, thin metal stakes that work pretty well. However, once you stake it, you can't raise or lower the canopy because the legs are angled out and moving it requires unstaking it and resetting it.

  • A. Yes, However, I'm afraid that the stakes provided and the structure itself won't hold up in a strong wind.

I'm just wondering if you TRULY need two people to put this up, or if one person can do it - if they just take their time.
by charredpretty 7/13/2011

  • A. Depending on a person's strength and size, one probably could do it carefully. But it really goes quickly with TWO persons.

  • A. It would be very difficult as you need one person to hold one leg while you stretch the gazebo diagonally. Perhaps if you secure one leg with a stake you can do it, but 2 people make the job a lot easier.

  • A. I supposed you could, and it says 2 people but I'd say it's easiest with 4, just trying to stretch the corners in place will be the biggest fight, but yes take your tame, walk from one corner to the other making sure they're secure.

  • A. I've put it up by myself before. Start it a little...enought to get the front or back legs where you want them. Hammer in the pins. Pull the other side and take your time. Velco each corner of the hood to each side of the frame, and push up the top. Start the rest of the velcro strips. Lengthen the legs and you got it.

I should have listened to the other review on here. This canopy is junk. The frame is good, takes 2 people to put up,but the actual canopy is thin rips very easy. Only had it up 1 week and it ripped. It just got worse from there. Now i have to replace it or just buy a better one. So that was 50 bucks down the drain. Do Not waste your money!

My family and I were on vacation and we needed some protection from the sun and rain. This canopy was on sale and the price was just right. I own a Quest Canopy that I purchased 5 years ago and although it is a little beat up it still does a great job. Setting up this canopy would have been easy had it been built better. The canvas top is very thin and does not offer much shade. The main issue is the legs you literally have to insert your finger or an object to push out the metal button in order to secure the leg. Who wants to do that it should click easily. Although the canopy comes with four stakes to insert in the ground a small wind was able to flip the entire canopy over on us. Fortunately Wal Mart has excellent customer service and they accepted the return with no problem. I do not recommend this canopy but I do recommend a Coleman or Quest. They are better built. This is my honest opinion I hope it is useful.

It is too bad they packaged an amazing metal frame with a piece of junk cover. You get what you pay for so they had to skimp somewhere. The cover has cheap barely sewn on Velcro for corner attachments that will tear off after the first time you take it down. Mine was missing one of the Velcro loops on the side and another one tore off when I was taking it down. The frame however is amazing and sturdy. Useless with out a good quality cover for the top.

We bought this for the beach and it was easy to put up, provided well needed shade and take down was a snap. It held up in the wind good. The stakes that come with it were too thin and short for the sand but I had planned for that and bought some 12" thick stakes at Wal-mart for .88 each. Also burying the legs in the sand works great. My family loves the beach so I know we will get our moneys worth with this.

I purchased this canopy to take on a camping trip with my family. Rain was in the forecast and we wanted something to put over the picnic table at the campground to keep us dry when eating. Once I drove hours to the campsite and began the assembly, it was obvious this was an absolute failure of a product. The construction and assembly of parts was sloppy at best. The spring pins that lock the leg extensions out were garbage and wouldn't lock into the holes. I had to use duct tape to secure 3 of the 4 legs into their extended position. This product is JUNK and WILL BE RETURNED. I've purchased an Ozark Trail tent before and it was good quality, that's why I thought this would be worth the savings over a Coleman, but I was surely wrong. Spend the few extra dollars on something else and save yourself the headache and time of trying to salvage it when you could be enjoying your vacation. 100% purely unsatisfied with this product.
