Rated 5 out of 5 by FBI808 Great tent for the price. We purchased this tent one year ago , and camped 27 nights in 2012, plus already 5 nights this past month. The second weekend of use, we encountered heavy rains , 30 MPH winds and thunderstorms that lasted all night long. A stream of water was running under the tent, yet we did not get wet at all. I was in love with the tent for this reason from very early on. We have one queen and one twin bed, and lots of gear, plus one large dog. It has been a great tent. After one year of heavy duty use in heavy winds , rain, ocean spray, and glaring sun, it is starting to show some wear. We did get wet during a recent prolonged heavy night of rain and wind. The beds were in contact with the tent wall, and our bedding got damp, but not really wet. It continued to rain most of the day, and our camp was flooded, so this was an extreme condition. However, we had never water proofed or rain sealed the seams before using the tent from day of purchase. One of the plastic clips broke in heavy winds last weekend, and the main door zipper has separated, but is still working. The wind was so heavy that the tent was completely flattened . Yet after the wind died down, the tent was fine. No tent rods have ever broken. We did use havy duty tent stakes instead of the cheap stakes that come with it. The tent bag has fallen apart, but that is not a big deal. Love the big windows and ease of putting it up and taking down, even in wind. We are considering buying another tent now only because of our desire for a bigger tent with more room between beds , room dividers, and gear loft. This tent could get us through another few camping trips . We will waterproof it first. The floor has never leaked. LOVE IT! Will keep this tent for guests and for teenagers. Great for a small family! 01/27/2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Joyx2 Sturdy, easy to put up We bought this tent after scouring reviews here and on Amazon. The price here cannot be beat. The tent was easy to put up, seems sturdy, and kept us as warm as a tent of this caliber can keep you in 40* temps at night. It did NOT rain so I have no experience with that aspect of tent performance. It was, however, very windy for a day of our trip and the tent held up well. You might want to buy some "real" tent stakes, as this (like most tents these days) comes with very flimsy ones. This tent has ample ventilation/windows, and that is one reason we picked it.My only complaint has to do with the zipper on the door constantly getting stuck on the fabric (and I do mean constantly), and the little door "mat" that comes with it is super cheap. And finally, this is not a complaint about the tent, but more a warning for those looking for ample space inside your tent - we were able to put two queen air mattresses in this tent, each pushed right up against opposite walls, and still had a bit of room for our stuff and to change clothes, but I wish we had gone with a larger tent (we are a family of 4). Our friend had a 12'x14' tent and it looked ideal size-wise. Again, though, this regret has more to do with me not really knowing in advance just how much actual room we'd have with our beds, gear, etc. Overall, this tent is a good buy and seems like a solid performer. If we use it when it rains in the future, I'll be sure to add to this review. Enjoy the great outdoors! 07/03/2012
